Note From The Principal
Greetings families and students. Welcome to our final trimester of the school year! It has been a unique but productive school year so far. I look forward to seeing continued growth. It is our goal for every student to gain proficiency or better related to all grade level essential content. To help achieve this, teachers meet regularly to plan curriculum implementation, evaluate teaching practices, look at student data, and plan reteaching and enrichment for students. This process is a regular part of what we do every day. We firmly believe in the moral imperative of our work and the life-changing impact education can have.

We need your partnership in these efforts. Please work with us to ensure students are in regular attendance whether it is in-person or through remote learning. If you have a student learning remotely, please check on them and make learning a priority within the home. Students have 5 days of synchronous instruction with a qualified teacher. We are dedicated to providing instruction with excellence and work to ensure learning. We need your support to make sure they are present. This reminds me of the famous Wayne Gretzky quote, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” This is your child’s shot. Please help us ensure they are present and require them to take it.

Thank you all for your continued support, we truly appreciate you.
Positivity Project News
This month, we delved into Enthusiasm, Social Intelligence, Love of Learning and Humor. Don’t forget that “P2 for Families” is an easy and effective way to discuss the importance of character strengths and positive relationships. It is differentiated for grades Pre-K – 2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Each character strength includes one quote, one video, and three questions to drive conversations around character at home.

For This Year….Physicals:
All 5th grade students and all new entrants in 6th grade, are required to have a physical examination. This mandate applies to all students remote and in-person. School physicals are scheduled every Wednesday morning at Randall. If the school is not provided with an up to date physical as of April 1st, your child will automatically be scheduled for one. Please contact the school nurse with any questions at (607) 758-4174.

For Next Year….Immunizations:
New York State Law requires students to be excluded from school without required immunizations.
All 5th grade students entering 6th grade, or when turning 11 years old, much show documentation of the Tdap vaccine before the start of the school year in September.
All 6th grade students entering 7th grade, must show documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine before the start of the school year in September.

Documentation may be sent in or faxed by the health care provider any time to the school Health Office. The school nurse expects documentation be submitted prior to the start of school in September.
Attendance Notice!
In order for a student’s attendance to be excused, the office needs to receive a written note from parents. This can be in the form of an email or a paper note. Phone messages and Dojo will no longer be accepted for “excused” attendance. We appreciate your understanding as we begin to return to normalcy.

What's New in Library: Tinkercad
Students in Library have been thinking about 3D design. Hopefully next year they will get to use the district's 3D printers to share their creativity.

Tinkercad is a web-based 3D design program by Autodesk. All that is required to make this immediately useable to students is a free account. From there, students can work through tutorials to learn the basics of the program and then continue to learn by embarking on quests to challenge themselves to reach the next level of 3D design! These challenges offer a large variety of tasks; something to appeal to everyone, at all levels of experience.

Tinkercad operates on the premise of using basic geometric shapes to create intricate designs. Possibilities are endless; from plants to animals to buildings to microbes to home décor and even accessories. If you can imagine it, you can create it with Tinkercad. Designs constructed in Tinkercad can be 3D printed, including moveable parts, or even downloaded into the popular Minecraft!
