September 8: Planning and Development Council meeting

Get ready to pedal into Fall - September is Bike Month!
Bike Month 2020 is going to be a little different than in years past, but there are still plenty of opportunities to head outside, get active, and discover the joy of cycling.

Bike Month is an opportunity for people to try riding a bike for the first time, learn new skills, or simply have fun and connect with new people. It's about taking the time to rekindle the youthful magic of exploring your neighbourhood by bike or sharing that joy with the next generation of cyclists.

Not sure how to celebrate Bike Month? Check out this list of cycling events or join us for a series of free safe cycling virtual workshops!

Happy cycling!

Continued diligence will slow the spread of COVID-19

As we approach the final long weekend of the summer it is important to remain diligent in following public health advice to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Our community's efforts over the summer months resulted in just 79 cases from June through August. Let's not lose that progress and let our sacrifices be for nothing, particularly as we begin to see upticks in other municipalities.

Town Hall goes cashless

Starting Thursday, October 1, the ServiceOakville counter at Town Hall will no longer accept cash for payments. The town will continue to accept a variety of other payment options for town programs and services. Cheques can also be mailed or dropped off in the drop box outside the main entrance at Town Hall. Other customer service counters at Town Hall that are currently closed due to COVID-19 will also be cashless once reopened.
Get prepared for back to school safety!

As students return to school, there will be a lot more traffic on the road and more kids walking, cycling, and getting dropped off at school. Please remember that the speed limit in school zones and around active parks is 40 km/hour. Please slow down and watch for school children. Be sure to plan your route, become familiar with bus drop off and parking, and talk about road safety. Let's ensure everyone stays safe this school year!
