Councilmember Andrew Friedson (District 1) sent a memo last week urging County Executive Marc Elrich to provide “clear, transparent metrics that will be used specifically as the basis for reopening decisions” as the County continues to see a decline in COVID cases and positive tests.

“Better communication with specific reopening metrics will build goodwill and is likely to yield greater compliance with public health measures. When everyone knows and understands the rules and why they are needed, they will be increasingly likely to follow them.” 

“This is especially true for. . .local business owners desperately trying to keep their lights on, and county workers eagerly awaiting a return to their jobs and livelihoods.”
