Strengthen Faith, Build Hope, Share Love in Christ Our Savior
Pastor Andy Writes...
Pastor Andy Keltner

Dear Friends in Christ,
It is my perception that some of you are waiting for an invitation to come back to worship services at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Louisburg.
Consider this your written invitation.
Here are six reasons why you should regularly attend worship services:
  1. To worship (Psalm 84)
  2. To promote personal growth in grace. (Ephesians 4:12-13)
  3. To reach out to those who do no know Christ. (Acts 2:47)
  4. To encourage each other in the faith. (Hebrews 10:25)
  5. To use your gifts to glorify God! (1 Cor. 12:12-17)
  6. To accomplish together what could not be done alone. (Matthew 18:19-20)
You are invited to join regularly in the worship of God at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church on Sunday mornings at 8 and 10:30 AM or in the evening at 7 PM. You are also encouraged to become involved in the ministry of the church through the use of you time and talents. Church attendance is not a matter of getting along with the pastor or the members. It is not a matter of what you can get out of the church. It is a matter of your relationship to God and what you can do to facilitate the spreading of God's word.

"Let us not give up meeting together,
as some are in the habit of doing,
but let us encourage one another--
and all the more as you see the Day
              approaching."
Hebrews 10:25

What is Lent?

The quarantine (literally, forty days) of Lent, a time of repentance, began on Ash Wednesday with an extended prayer and confession of sins, and with this reminder: "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." The forty days (not including Sundays, which are considered "little Easters") come to their conclusion now in the three holy days, or Triduum, of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. Therefore these days center around the only sacrifice that gives us absolution, the forgiveness we so desire: the body and blood of the Lord's Supper that proclaim the glorious substitutionary suffering and death of our Lord on the cross and interment in the tomb. Only in this way can a person know and believe what there is to be so happy about on Easter Sunday!
