PBSA seeks presenters for its
2021 Mid-Year Legislative and Regulatory Conference to be held
April 18-20, 2021, Arlington, VA.
Note on the 2021 Mid-Year Conference

We remain optimistic that we will be able to meet face to face in April. We are also going to be prepared with alternate options to ensure that we can continue to connect with and bring value to our members. As you consider your presentation, please note that there is a possibility that conference sessions may be available virtually to PBSA conference registrants who are not able to attend in person when submitting your proposal.

Why Present for PBSA?

Presenting a conference session provides tremendous benefit to you, your employer and brand, and PBSA. You will increase your presentation skills, build your resume as a speaker, earn recognition from your peers, work alongside industry experts, and give back to the profession. If you are looking to capture a wider audience, increase your brand recognition as a subject matter expert, and expand your portfolio, presenting sessions is an excellent avenue to pursue.

Session Topics and Guidelines

We're looking for a variety of topics, including, but not limited to:
  • FCRA compliance and developments
  • Federal and state law compliance
  • Global screening
  • Business practices (HR processes, growth & development)
  • Technology (IT, Information Security, AI, Blockchain, etc.)
  • Tenant screening
  • Drug testing
  • Timely topics on what is impacting the industry right now
  • Professional Development

Sessions should be designed to educate attendees working within the background screening industry and be geared toward foundational or advanced level learning. Consider the level of detail you will be providing and how in-depth your session will be.

PBSA asks you to please keep in mind the audience for this conference includes consumer reporting agencies (background screeners), partners to consumer reporting agencies who may provide products or services that are used in the preparation of consumer reports or within their businesses generally, consultants, and End-Users (i.e. employers). Your presentation and discussions should keep all audiences in mind and ensure nothing is presented which would advantage one member over another.

Guidelines:
  • Membership in PBSA is NOT a requirement
  • Proposals should be in English
  • No fees are required to submit a proposal
  • PBSA does not pay speaker fees or expenses
  • Maximum submission of 5 proposals per presenter

All submissions due no later than December 7, 2020. Early submissions always welcomed.
