201 S. 3rd St.......................... ......................... ......................... 970-522-8888
Honored as the Logan County Chamber of Commerce Business of the Week is FPC Insurance. On hand for the announcement were (left to right) Hilary Leisure, Lisa Hoffman, Kelly Baxter, Lacey Sexton and (back row left to right) Andrew Fritzler and Travis McConnell.
.....PFS Insurance began in 2001 in Johnstown and the Sterling office opened in 2010 by Travis McConnell. PFS now consists of 4 branches in Sterling, Yuma, Johnstown and Greenwood Village.
Majority owner of PFS are Pinnacle Bancorp (same company that owns Bank of Colorado and Pinnacle Banks).
.....McConnell started the Sterling branch in 2010 independently and then Kelly Baxter joined the company in 2011 as his account manager. Lisa Hoffman joined in 2013 as a second account manager. From then until present Sterling branch has grown to a total of six employees: Travis McConnell, Kelly Baxter, Lisa Hoffman, Lacey Sexton, Andrew Fritzler and Hilary Leisure.
....In 2010 PFS was located at 201 S. 3rd St. inside the Bank of Colorado. In 2012 when the Bank of Colorado moved to their current location, PFS moved with them. PFS was in the bank until their recent move in 2019 when they purchased the forer bank location and remodeled the building back at 201 S. 3rd St. Remodel work to the exterior of the building is still being done and landscaping and remodel work hopefully be done by 2021.
....PFS specializes in all types of insurance including home, auto, business, farm and ranch, crop and benefits. With a staff of around 65 employees across the four branches, PFS has account managers and agents that specialize in all aspects of the insurance industry.
....PFS still believes in deep customer service and will always have a real person answering the phone, and each client has a dedicated account manager and an agent. This insures that any staff at PFS can easily help clients. Cleary each PFS client does not just go to a phone bank for customer service representatives. Proposal Clarifies Independent Status
The U.S. Department of Labor announced a proposed rule clarifying the definition of employee under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) as it relates to independent contractors. “The Department’s proposal aims to bring clarity and consistency to the determination of who’s an independent contractor under the Fair Labor Standards Act,” said Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia. “Once finalized, it will make it easier to identify employees covered by the Act, while respecting the decision other workers make to pursue the freedom and entrepreneurialism associated with being an independent contractor.”
