This Is Our Last Chance: Tell Congress to Act NOW
|
|
This is the last chance for COVID relief in 2020. The lame duck session in Congress is expected to end next week. If nothing happens, thousands of American businesses will likely close and with them millions of jobs lost for good.
The CARES Act was passed in March of this year and the funds from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) were largely spent by June. A failure by Congress to act now is unthinkable. We must let them hear our voice – again!
While we remain vigilant in holding our leaders accountable, positive developments towards a relief package continue to emerge. A bipartisan group of lawmakers that announced a $908 billion compromise bill are expected to release the legislative text this week. AHLA and the coalition we helped create, COVID Relief Now, are pushing Congress to pass the compromise as quickly as possible.
Hoteliers must use this momentum to push for relief. Now is the time! Please write or call your elected officials today. Please forward this message to everyone you know in our industry. Please act now.
