Construction Business Owner features S&D on the Suburban Hospital project which included 100 plumbers, steamfitters, sheet metal workers, and HVAC installers. The sheer amount of personnel on this project far exceeded the industry norm of 50 to 70 tradespeople at a time.

AGC OF DC AWARDS INOVA PROTON CENTER FOR "BEST BIM"

In a time where supply chains and production of materials are being disrupted, early estimates are extremely beneficial in making sure that the project's team is able to acquire the materials for the project. VDC professionals are utilizing new technologies to create more accurate estimates every day. 3D coordination gives general contractors and subcontractors the opportunity to work collectively early in the construction process to identify the most effective and economical way to install the building elements. Learn more.

Our People Serve the Community  
  • Shapiro & Duncan sponsored the 2020 SEEC FootGolf tournament on September 26th. This year, they were able to raise $15,000. SEEC is a progressive nonprofit agency providing a wide range of community supports to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live lives of their choosing.   • Participated in the Professional Pathways Panel Discussion with Academic representatives from the Universities at Shady Grove. This program exposes rising high school seniors in the ACES (Achieving Collegiate excellence & Success) Program to jobs in various industries that are available in Montgomery County. As employer panelist, Aaron Shapiro promoted the construction industry, and all the different career pathways within it. 
  • Partnered with MCCEI (Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation) to help develop and launch their podcast series targeted to help students, parents and teachers gain an understanding of career paths in the construction industry.   • Our Engineering Department partnered with Montgomery County Public Schools for their annual Summer RISE program. The program was created to help inform student decision making about life after high school. Through the Summer RISE program, students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning opportunities related to their field of interest.
