The featured speaker for the event is Bruce Transue, the new General Manager of the facility. Bruce will talk about upgrades to the mountain and future plans for facility.

Deposit Chamber Award Dinner Re-Scheduled to Jan. 25

The annual dinner was originally scheduled for January 19, but re-scheduled due to weather.

The Deposit Chamber of Commerce invites you to its annual dinner and award ceremony, featuring Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond as guest speaker.

Business Opportunity: Boat Rental and Steam Cleaner Vendors Sought for Cannonsville Reservoir Area

Are you a business on the periphery of the Cannonsville Reservoir? Say, Walton, Trout Creek, Deposit, Sidney? The Catskill Watershed Corp. is looking for additional steam cleaning and boat rental vendors to encourage greater public participation in the Reservoir Recreational Boating Program, which is run by the Catskill Watershed Corporation (CWC) and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP).

Boat racks can be provided at one or more of the seven launch sites on the reservoir to store rental boats for easy access by customers. 

Funding may be available for steam cleaning apparatus. There are no requirements as to how much vendors must charge for services.

Employers Must Comply with Sexual Harassment Prevention Training by October 2019
 
As you might be aware, New York State has passed legislation that requires all New York businesses - regardless of size - to provide preventing sexual harassment training to their employees.  If you are like many Chamber members, you are not certain what to do.
 
The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with New Haven Consulting Group, Inc. to provide our members with an online "Preventing Sexual Harassment" workshop that meets the requirements of New York State law and can be taken by your employees online.  We have reviewed the workshop and found it to be not only useful but enjoyable to take.

This workshop complies with new Labor Law-Section 201-g, which went into effect on Oct. 9, 2018.

As of Oct. 9, 2018, all employers in New York are required to provide anti-
sexual harassment training on an annual basis. Employers have one year to comply
with this new law. 

This comprehensive classroom online training meets New York's detailed requirements that  addresses both  legal and behavioral aspects of sexual harassment to ensure an inclusive, highly  productive work environment.

In this online classroom training participants are introduced to the key content areas through text reading and mini-presentations. Ample opportunity is provided for discussion and clarification of the content through the use of case studies and individualized exercises.

The training is an interactive, self-paced learning system in which participants are assessed, led through a customize content module, and checked at each point in the learning process.
