Larry, I am interested in getting more involved with PARMA. What opportunities are available?

Great question. I recommend you first get involved with your local chapter by attending their regular meetings. In pre-Covid19 times, most chapters held in-person meetings on a quarterly schedule, and we’ll get back to that routine eventually. But in our current environment we’re seeing chapters conduct their meetings virtually, so you have opportunities to “attend” meetings conducted by all chapters. For your specific chapter, you can send emails to your chapter’s officers by going to www.parma.com and click the “Chapters” tab. Click on your chapter and then send an email to one or all of your chapter officers and ask them if there are any opportunities to assist with chapter activities, perhaps on a chapter committee (most chapters have at the minimum a steering committee). There may also be opportunities to serve as a chapter officer and serving as a chapter officer is the typical springboard for serving on the Board of Directors (if you’re really ambitious!). Finally, make sure you attend the annual conference. Besides the awesome educational opportunities you’ll experience with the multitude of seminars, the conference is a fantastic opportunity to network and meet your peers!
