There will be food collection bins from September 7 through September 28 at the Sanctuary and Lower entrances. All donations will be brought inside at the end of each day. Alternatively…

You can purchase grocery store gift cards to be distributed directly to clients of the Mitzvah Food Program so they can purchase items they need from their local grocery store. We recommend gift cards from ShopRite, Acme and Giant, as these are the stores most easily accessible to our clients. Gift card values up to $50 are the most helpful. Give any purchased cards to Amy Stretch.
-
You can purchase food through the Mitzvah Food Program Amazon Wish List (https://tiny.cc/MFPOYR) so that products are shipped directly to a pantry.

Support Local Farms with Your Fork….
Join the Fall CSA Season
Kol Ami Hazon CSA at Congregation Adath Jeshurun is an organic Jewish Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA) now in its 15th year. Our CSA was the first in our region to align with Hazon, a national nonprofit that links Jewish traditions with environmental action. Through its CSA network, Hazon is using Jewish purchasing power to support local organic farmers, foster vibrant Jewish communities who care about environmental issues and educational issues, and examine food and environmental issues from a Jewish perspective.
Kol Ami Hazon CSA at Congregation Adath Jeshurun partners with over 100 Amish and Mennonite organic farmers from Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative (LFFC). Enrollment keeps local sustainable farms and local food safe for future generations. The diversity of crops among LFFC farmers ensures a good variety of fresh seasonal produce each week. Our CSA is composed of members from the local community.
We safely distribute fresh, locally grown, organic vegetables, fruit, eggs, cheese and herbal medicines each week on Tuesday evenings (4:30 to 6:00 PM) from Adath Jeshurun’s kitchen. AJ has been our host since the sale of the Kol Ami property and continues as a convenient location and delightful partnership
|
|
The LFFC CSA Fall season will be held November 2 to December 21 (8 weeks). Here's a list of vegetables and fruits you might expect in a fall share: cauliflower, carrots, kale, collards, onions, lettuce and arugula, apples, pears, Brussels sprouts, winter squash, parsnips, turnips, sweet potatoes, beets, peppers, potatoes, shallots, spinach, herbs, mustard greens, radishes, cabbage, celeriac, and cranberries.
Learn more and register NOW: Select Pa: Kol Ami Hazon, 7763 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027 (Adath Jeshurun kitchen) as first choice. Opt for “no second choice.” We do not distribute meat shares due to kashruth observance.
