Illinois Science Assessment for Seniors
Testing to be administered after school on Wednesday, October 6.
On Wednesday, October 6 following the SMART day dismissal, Lake Park High School will administer the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) to seniors at West Campus. Seniors are highly encouraged to take this exam but it is not required. Testing is estimated to last from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Transportation must be provided by the student or parent/guardian.

The ISA is designed to reflect classroom experiences and application of knowledge to real-life situations. The ISA is also a tool that helps ensure high-quality science instruction in Illinois. There are three sections per assessment – 96 items overall. All three sections will be administered on the October 6 examination date. This assessment will cover topics including general assessment of science topics, life, physical, and earth science, and engineering technology. Many students who took the assessment in the past said the ISA seemed more like classroom instruction than a test.

Parents/Guardians are asked to encourage their senior to confirm their intent to take the ISA before Friday, October 1. Once RSVPs are collected, students will receive an email with additional information about where to report for testing, what to bring (a Chromebook and calculator), and the approximate time required to complete the exam. Students can RSVP using the QR code or by clicking here.

For questions about the ISA for the Class of 2022, contact Assistant Principal for Student Development Kate Foster at kfoster@lphs.org.
