Holy Moly! Yep, we have one of the 6 Dr. Seuss books that have been withdrawn from publication. This book was originally gifted to a young woman on her 12th birthday by her Aunt and Uncle in 1953. They regularly attended cocktail parties with Theodor Geisel. Geisel inscribed the book, "To _, with Best Wishes - Dr. Seuss," and then drew - what may possibly be - a cartoon version of himself, complete with bowtie, glasses (?) and beard.

This book belonged to a private collector who corresponded with Mildred Benson for many years. First Edition, Second Printing with original dust jacket. $3600

Signed by the author, "Love, Shel Silverstein" on the title page. Later printing without price code on dust flap. $3500

The Prince & the Pauper (1881), 1st/1st, $2500
Europe and Elsewhere (1923), 1st/1st, $275
Tramp Abroad (1889) - Early Printing, $75
The Gilded Age (1890) - Early Printing, $75

This book was the first to standardize fly patterns in America and how to fish them. Written by the oldest daughter of Charles Orvis, it is one of the earliest works to use chromolithography plates. Illustrated with 32 color chromolithographic plates of flies, six engravings of natural insects, and eight reproductions of photographs. $250

When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.
- Audre Lorde

I would venture to guess that Anon, who wrote so many poems without signing them, was often a woman.
- Virginia Woolf

Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.
- Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

When you hurt people, they begin to love you less. That's what careless words do. They make people love you a little less.
- Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things
