The Rev. Dr. Wesley H. Wachob Scholarship
A scholarship has been established in honor of The Rev. Dr. Wesley H. Wachob. If you would like to contribute, please send a check made payable to FUMC with “scholarship” in the memo line.

The Wesley Wachob Library
Before the service this morning, the First United Methodist Church library was named in honor of Dr. Wachob. The library is located on the basement level of the Sanctuary, and it is one of the most comprehensive libraries in the Methodist Church. Dr. Wachob has always encouraged continuous learning as a spiritual act of worship and preached a better understanding of God and oneself by reading and meditating on holy scripture and by the reading and studying of the prominent theologians and other religious texts found in our library. The impressive collection is managed by a staff of dedicated volunteers who give hours of service to keeping our library current and active. All are encouraged to explore and use the wealth of knowledge that it holds
FEATURED EVENTS
Lunch Bunch Event - Session 2: “The City of Pensacola and Its Guns”
Tuesday, May 24 | Noon - 1:00pm | Wesley Abbey
The UMW/United Women in Faith Lunch Bunch small group will hold its second event on gun violence. Police Chief Eric Randall will speak at FUMC on the topic, Gun Violence in Pensacola. The talk by Chief Randall will be held in Wesley Abbey. Light refreshments will be served from 11:30-12:00 and the program will start promptly at 12:00. Violence is of great concern to our community members; the news is filled with stories that touch our hearts and puzzle our brains. We all want a safe place to live and raise our children, but these stories tempt us to fear. We want to know what we can do to help with this issue. To do that ,we have to understand the causes of the problem. Chief Randall will help to further our understanding. If you share this concern, join us to hear Chief Randall. All are welcome. For more info, contact: President, Nettie Joseph nettiebobjoseph@gmail.com or Program Chair, Peggy Pilcher at fppilcher@cox.net.
