New Chamber Director Elected

On Monday, October 21, Kevin DePodwin of Roxbury was elected to fill a vacant director position, created earlier this month when Cindy Pinney retired from her position on the board.

Kevin is the co-owner and founder of Table to Farm Tours, with his partner Lindsay Barton. Table to Farm Tours connects their customer with local Catskills farmers, distillers, cider makers, and farm-to-table restaurants through day and evening tours. Chamber Now Offers Health Care Options!

Providing quality healthcare for employees can be a
challenge.

Our members tell us that healthcare is a top concern for
their businesses. That's why the Delaware County Chamber has partnered with
the Small Association Leadership Alliance (SALA) to allow our members
access to a comprehensive and cost-effective alternative to traditional
insurance plans. The SALA Healthcare Program offers two preventative care plans
with a medical cost sharing program covering unexpected or catastrophic events.
Participants can expect to save as up to 60% when compared to traditional group
health insurance. Prescription drug and telemedicine programs are also
included. The SALA Healthcare Program helps businesses, who are unable to
provide group health insurance, offer their employees access to affordable,
high quality healthcare.

Join us for an informative webinar on October 30 at 11:00 am to learn about this innovative new member benefit. You may attend the event at the Chamber office or online by clicking   HERE.

November STEM-Focused After School Program in Delhi

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Compliance Penalties

The deadline for complying with New York's Mandatory training requirement for combatting sexual harassment has come and gone.  You still have potential exposure by not acting in good faith to complete this training  by the end of the year.  We are concerned that you may be facing penalties and fines that far exceed the nominal cost of the online training the chamber has sponsored.

Click HERE to register your employees for the training and to avoid the possibility of significant fines. The cost is $10 per person and well worth the investment.

The discounted pricing expires Oct. 31. After Oct. 31 the fee will be $20 per person.

The cost for not complying is huge!

Potential Fines:

Example: NYS Business with 10 Employees:
  • Maximum Fine First Offense - $1,000
  • Maximum Fine Second Offense - $5,000
THE COMPLIANT ALTERNATIVE:

Cost of Online Training for 10 employees = $200
