City of Houston Reopens Vision Zero Public Comment Until October 20

Thank you for joining the Vision Zero Houston email list. Vision Zero Houston is the City’s commitment to end traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030 and improve street safety for all road users. We are excited to share with you a few updates and an important call to action:

  1. The Vision Zero Action Plan will be released in early November to coincide with November 7, 2000: the 20th anniversary of the last time Texas roadways went a day without a single death state-wide.
  2. Throughout October, the Planning and Development Department is doing additional engagement and outreach with select METRO Transit Centers.

Over the summer, the Planning and Development Department hosted two online public meetings and a public comment period to hear from you and get feedback on the draft Vision Zero Action Plan. We have incorporated what we heard and now we want to make sure we got it right.

  1. Call to Action: provide feedback on the revised draft actions and tell your friends and family to do the same. Review and provide comments at https://www.letstalkhouston.org/vision-zero by October 20.
  2. Click on any of the focus areas – Overarching, Make Walking and Biking Safe, Make Connecting to Transit Safe, and Make Driving Safe – to review the actions.
  3. Register and click on ‘Quick Reply’ to provide a comment or see what others are saying by clicking ‘Go to Discussion’.

Thank you for your participation.
