Financial Aid Feature

What Does It Mean If You Are "Missing Documents"?

Whether you've applied for financial aid for Summer 2022, for Fall 2022, or for both - applying is just the first step!

Once LCCC receives your aid applications, you may have additional steps, which likely include providing requested documents to LCCC.

If you don't provide the required documents, it will put your entire financial aid process at a standstill! It's important for you to provide the requested documents at your earliest convenience so that we can keep processing your financial aid.

Verification

One of the most common reasons for having missing documents is that you have been selected for Verification.

Verification ensures that we have your information correct, and this process protects both the student and the school to ensure that we are following all applicable regulations when awarding your financial aid.

Check out this video to learn more about verification:

SAP Appeals

Another common missing document is a SAP Appeal.

SAP stands for Satisfactory Academic Progress. Learn more about SAP.

Even before you start at LCCC, you might need to submit a SAP appeal if you have a previous degree or a lot of transfer credits.

Or, if you're a continuing student and you have used your warning semester, you will also need to submit a SAP appeal.

Check out this video to learn more about SAP:

Academic Standing

Academic Standing helps ensure that students are making progress toward their educational goals. You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher to be in good academic standing.

Students not in good academic standing will be placed on academic probation or academic suspension. These processes allow students a chance to utilize resources to help them improve their success.

You can learn more about academic standing in the LCCC Catalog or on the LCCC webpage. Students on academic probation or suspension are notified via their LCCC student email after grades have been posted for the semester.

They can help you map out your degree progress, connect you with academic support, help answer your questions, and cheer you on throughout your time at LCCC. They work with faculty and Pathway Coordinators to make sure that all students have the support they need to be successful. Your academic advisor is a great person to have in your corner!

If you haven't already met with your academic advisor, what are you waiting for?
