Visiting Priest Rev. Margaret Fisher
will say Eucharist September 19
Before retiring to California, The Rev. Margaret Fisher served three churches in the Diocese of Spokane.  She has a keen interest in congregational studies and development, inclusive decision making, and processes of reconciliation. Her passions in the church are liturgy and Christian formation with young children, and her passions at home are cooking for groups and gardening. She now lives in Willits and is a member of St. Francis in the Redwoods.
We invite you to welcome Rev. Fisher and celebrate Eucharist on Sunday in the church at 9:30
Vestry Retreat
As we come to the end of our year of successful transition from a Priest-in-Charge to solely lay-led administration we must now evaluate how Trinity can continue to serve our congregation meaningfully and sustain our mission and vision as stated at the top of this newsletter.
Rev. Fisher will be facilitating our upcoming Vestry Retreat where we will contemplate and plan how Trinity, moves forward from here. We will be meeting by Zoom, most likely at the end of October or early November.
What do YOU want?
To prepare for our retreat, after service on Sunday Rev. Fisher is inviting the congregation to share your thoughts with her for Trinity's future . She would like to hear from all of you, not just the Vestry, about what will continue to draw you to Trinity. We want to go into our retreat with an understanding of what is important to the congregation as we address the realities of a shortage of human resources, and a decent, but limited, budget for operating as we currently are. We want come up with a plan for sustaining our current activities at Trinity, as they are desired, but to also to re-image how we continue our mission--to offer a welcoming environment for exploring our faith and serving others-- within our current constraints.
Join us after service with your thoughts and ideas
for Trinity at this critical juncture of Church.
Vestry Open Invite
For Trinity to thrive, not just survive, there three things we are asking you to consider for Trinity's future:

One is simple; attend Eucharist on Sunday and stay after to offer your thoughts to Rev. Fisher, and to Vestry members.

Two, ALL are invited to attend a session of our Zoom retreat where we discuss ideas and plans for the coming year. Date(s) will be announced as the plans come together.

Three, Consider becoming a candidate for Trinity's Vestry in 2022. We are approaching the end of the Vestry year and we need members to serve on Vestry next year. to replace individuals who have served their term and must come off, we need at least 3 new members, and for a full Vestry we need a total of 5 more individuals. Candidates are invited to the decision making process of the retreat so we can smoothly carry forward decisions made by the current Vestry for the future.
Please prayerfully consider investing yourself
in Trinity's future.

It hardly seems possible that twenty years have passed since the tragic September 11 loss of thousands of innocent lives and the response of hundreds of firefighters, police officers, first responders and service members to save others.
This week, I met with the Very Rev. Matthew Woodward at Trinity Cathedral to reflect on this somber occasion. Attached is a brief video from that conversation. I hope that today you will join me in remembering the sacrifice of so many of our brothers and sisters that day. Click Here.

Trinity Guidelines
for Worship in the Church
  • Masking— we can provide a mask
  • Signing in—for now (for contact tracing)
  • Distancing—chairs are set up in the church at appropriate distances.
  • Sanitizing hands before and after restroom use.
  • Singing—The Diocese has requested we refrain from singing a little longer. Mary will play the piano in church as a prelude and postlude.
  •  Communion—Stay at your seat and the priest (or a Eucharistic Minister) will come to you. We will offer the bread only at this time, recognizing that it is still receiving the fullness of Christ's presence. You can choose not to accept.
  • The Peace—Acknowledge each other and offer your peace to fellow worshipers from your place in the church.
