Vanessa, a pianist in the Yarbo/Fadial Duo, with violinist, Anyango Yarbo-Davenport, and instructor at the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles, describes herself as a reluctant homeschooler for her PG son, one of two children, from 3rd-6th grade while trying to find a good educational fit for him. She found their village at the Davidson Institute, a 501(c) foundation that serves the profoundly gifted population and opened its first public school in 2006 in Reno, Nevada. Her son entered high school at 12 and college at 14. Now he is a thriving junior at UCLA.
