"Mirror, mirror, on the wall...
"... who's the fairest of them all?"

Many, if not all of us, can find a mirror in our homes, especially in our bathrooms, presumably for use to make sure that we look as presentable as possible, especially if we are going to be seen by others at work, school, the store, etc.

Using a mirror to make ourselves look presentable, I believe, can also be interpreted as our desire to try and make our exterior appearance match that of our interior. If I believe that I am a beautiful person, I hope others see that reflected in some way in my physical presentation. For example, I don’t necessarily want others to see me looking disheveled as I wake up from a nap, because I know that’s not who I am, it is just that I just woke up. This is a natural thing for each of us to want to make sure we look good.

Mary, who has many titles attributed to her, has also been call, "Mirror of the Church," meaning that her very person, her very being, is a reflection of the Church that God has created: pure, immaculate, beautiful, lovely, virtuous, faithful, loyal, perfect… the list can go on. This is why Catholics have such a great love and devotion to the Mother of Jesus, the Mother of God.

In her very being, she is the reflection of the glory of the Church that God calls us to be a part of. As Mary is the proto-disciple of Christ, the original disciple, she is was the first to say yes to Christ Jesus and follow him with all her mind, body and soul, and we have been called to look to her and imitate that in our own lives.

Mary’s entire life has always been about giving back to God, never about herself. Thus, we celebrate our patronal feast day of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary this weekend! As Mary was consecrated at a young age to God and lived it out through her entire life, mirroring what the Church is to look like, let us ask for her intercessions that we too can do the same in our own lives. As we celebrate our Patroness’ Feast Day this weekend, let us enter into God’s Temple and offer Him ourselves as a living sacrifice, with praise and thanksgiving.

Who's the fairest of them all? The answer, of course, is Mary, our blessed Mother.

Mary, Mirror of the Church, pray for us!

Our students learned about and gave thanks for our servicemen and women this past week in honor of Veteran's Day.

Presentation Spirit Wear is here!! Click here to view the online store. It will be open for orders through December 6th, 2020.
This year, Presentation is celebrating its Diamond Anniversary. This amazing little school has been educating God’s children for 75 years. The way kids are learning today probably looks a lot different than it did 75 years ago. At the core, however, remains the faith formation and academic excellence that drives this school.

The auction committee is hard at work planning an amazing virtual event. The event will be held on February 6, 2021, culminating Catholic Schools Week. Just as the look and feel for our students in the classroom has changed over the years, the auction will look and feel different this year as well. It is still our biggest fundraiser, however, and is essential to our school’s success.

We are currently accepting auction item donations. Please consider supporting your favorite merchants by buying a Gift Card or creating a gift basket, donating a bottle of wine, liquor or spirits, or creating an experience to share with Presentation Families.

For more information, head over to the auction website: https://www.presentationofmaryschool.org/auction/

Volunteers Needed!

The Auction Committee is looking for a few volunteers at this time. Please reach out to Amber Henslin at amberhenslin@gmail.com if you are able to help:

-Donations: Solicit businesses or individuals to donate auction items (restaurants, spas/salons, breweries, sports teams, retail stores, etc.) and track who you have contacted and what they are donating

Thanks in advance for supporting Presentation as we look ahead to 75 more years of excellence!
