Help Out for Staff Potluck
Puesta del Sol PTA Staff Appreciation is hosting our next staff appreciation event on Thursday, February 16, and we want to make it a warm and yummy one with a potluck!
We're looking for volunteers to bring soups, salads, desserts and more for our teachers and staff--as well as those to serve on the day of. Sign up here.

Seeking Bookfair Committee Members 2023-2024 School Year
We are hoping to create a bookfair committee to start planning for next school year. Please email fundraising@puestadelsolpta.org with your name and availability in March for a quick planning meeting.

We have sections reserved for our group. Order early to make sure you get a seat!
$25 per ticket for main level seats.

Friday, June 9, 2023 at 7pm at Climate Pledge Arena
Save the Date for a Seattle Storm game with Puesta del Sol PTA!
Cost: $30 per ticket.
Deadline to order is 5/15/23 but order early to guarantee your seats! (We will place the order as soon as we reach 50 tickets, and then in groups of 10-20 after that until the deadline or there is no more ticket inventory at this price.)

Fiesta Latina Program
We are excited to announce the return of Fiesta Latina with the amazing instructor Angela De La Hoz!
Get inspired by the fun music and learn to dance while improving coordination, boosting confidence and gaining a deeper understanding of social dancing in the Latin American lifestyle. Students will have an opportunity to develop understanding and move to the rhythms and beats of casual Latin dances like salsa, cumbia, bachata, merengue and reggaeton, while practicing their Spanish in a casual, fun and friendly way.

Spring Fundraiser: Save the Date

Our big spring fundraising event will be during school April 7th.
We are excited to be partnering with APEX for our Spring Fundraiser March 27th-April 7th. They are not only helping with our PTA fundraiser, but also bringing short leadership lessons to our students during the school day for 2 weeks!

Green Team at Puesta del Sol

The Green Team will help PDS improve our energy efficiency and environmental practices in the lunchroom and throughout the school with educational outreach and other activities to be determined by the group. Please complete this form and turn into the main office by Wednesday, February 15th.
- Sra. Maggie and Srta. Stephanie will let the students know they are on Green Team after we review the applications.
- There will be an information meeting Thursday, February 16th at 8:30am in the Teatro.
- We will discuss what is involved in being a green teamer and the commitment we expect.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Black history, culture, and stories are essential every month of the year, and especially in the month of February as we celebrate Black History Month. At school, themes of African-American and Black history will be integrated into the curriculum throughout the month. We encourage you to extend the learning at home! Host Families Needed for 2023-2024 School Year
The Amity Program offers interns a unique cultural and teaching experience at Puesta del Sol. We have four amazing interns this year who are serving in various classrooms.
We are looking for host families for the 2023-2024 school year. Hosting can be 3-6-9 month experience. If you are interested in learning about the program or hosting, or connecting to a current host family, please contact amity@puestadelsolpta.org.

Bellevue Schools Foundation's Spring for Schools
Saturday, April 1, 2023 | 5:00-7:00pm

Join us for an evening of food, drinks, music, and a showcase of BSF donor funded programs. The funding raised at Spring for Schools 2023 will determine how much support the BSF can provide for critical programming at all 30 schools in Bellevue School District. The event will host business professionals, community leaders, and philanthropic donors who are committed to making sure that all 18,000+ students in Bellevue’s public schools have access to innovative programs and enrichment opportunities that will help them thrive in an increasingly competitive global market.
