13 September 2021 | Chartiers Valley Intermediate School
Dear IS Families,

It’s hard to believe that we are almost one month into the new school year! It’s been a busy start, and our students are beaming with excitement for learning. Each Intermediate School student was issued a Chromebook during the first week of school, and families were emailed a link to sign off on the device agreement so your student can transport the Chromebook to and from school.

Student Chromebooks are used to support and enhance instruction and as a tool to personalize your child’s learning experience. Please help us build your child’s responsibility in caring for their school-issued device with the care tips listed below:
  • Keep food and drink away from the Chromebook
  • Use clean hands when utilizing the Chromebook
  • Take care of the screen and keyboard (be gentle)
  • Carry the Chromebook with both hands and the lid closed
  • Keep the Chromebook on your desk or a table
  • Don’t write or draw on the Chromebook
  • Do not share your Chromebook with your friends
  • Turn off your Chromebook for several hours at least once a week
  • Charge your Chromebook each night so it’s ready for school each day

We greatly appreciate your support and assistance in your child’s educational journey!

Reminders! School picture day is scheduled for September 17 and make-ups will be held on November 4. Open House is scheduled for September 23! We hope to see you there!

From the Cafeteria
This school year our Food Service Department is experiencing some supply chain issues with numerous menu items for both breakfast and lunch. Some popular items are on backorder with no known restock date at this time. Please be aware that we are adjusting the menus when we are informed of any out of stock items and we are giving students other options to choose from during meal service. We ask for your patience during this time, we are doing the best we can with what products we are able to order. Please contact me if you have any questions and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Chartiers Valley School District is offering FREE breakfast and FREE lunch to every student, every school day. More information.

We are also offering an a la carte snack menu this year for students who wish to pack their lunch and buy snacks.
From the Athletic Office
Click here to view the flyer for events season tickets. This pass is good for all contests for the 2021-2022 school year. Student tickets will also be sold for $3 per contest at home games.

Please remember that students younger than high school age must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of all District events and athletic competitions. This includes Friday night football games.
