Easter Greetings from ExquisiCare
Easter has always been my favourite holiday. It’s a time of new beginnings, of re-birth. The trees and flowers are starting to bloom and there is a spring in everyone’s step, excited to get out of our winter bound homes, and enjoy the fresh air.
This year, Easter is that much more special and exciting for us at ExquisiCare. We are so grateful that all our residents received the COVID vaccine, and our amazing team members will also be vaccinated in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to the day when we can welcome our families back into the homes. But as we take these excited steps forward, we are cautious to not lose sight of the lessons of this pandemic. We always believed it, and now we know it to be true, the residential ExquisiCare model is not only more comfortable, and results in better overall care, it is without a doubt, safer. We had zero cases of COVID in any of our residents. In the coming months, we will be standing from a roof top, sharing this success, in an effort to show others what we have always know: institutionalizing our elders is never ok. There is a better model for senior care, and we want everyone to know about it. If you know of an elder who would benefit from the ExquisiCare model, please tell them to contact us, by calling me directly at (780) 903-5612.  We can’t wait to share this model of care with other deserving elders and their families.
Wishing you a joyous Easter and a delightful spring!

We don’t yet know what our future holds, but we are hopeful for a return to some normal connections and the ability to reconnect our elders and their loved ones….in person. Until that time, here are some great tips for connecting virtually with a loved one who may be in care.
Small-House Nursing Homes
A new report from by AARP takes a deep dive into the design and philosophy of the Green House model, as well as the results of its COVID-19 data collection.

Published on its website as part of a series titled "Advancing Transformation in Long-Term Services and Supports," AARP examines the evidence on small-house nursing homes, with a particular focus on Green House homes.

In addition to a look at the model's successful outcomes, this highly anticipated report examines financing, regulations, and workforce as they pertain to operating the homes.
