Gretchen Bergstresser
Partner, Global Head of Performing Credit & Senior Portfolio Manager, CVC Credit Partners
Gretchen co-founded the U.S. Credit business of CVC Credit Partners in 2005. Over her 32 years in the industry, she has also worked at Eaton Vance, Bank of Boston, ING and other financial institutions. She earned an M.B.A. from Boston University, an M.S. in Chemistry from the Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. from St. Lawrence University. In January 2016, Gretchen was elected to the board of directors for the Loan Syndications and Trading Association.
Joyce Meng
Founder, FACT Capital
Joyce is the Founder of FACT Capital (FACT stands for Fairness, Alignment, Compounding, and Transparency), which innovates on the traditional hedge fund model and applies 'first principles' thinking to investment framework, portfolio/research transparency, technology use, and incentive alignment for long term compounding. Prior to FACT, Joyce was Partner at Vernier Capital and Research Analyst at MSD Capital and Goldman Sachs Investment Partners. Joyce graduated summa cum laude from the Huntsman Program of the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a BA in International Studies and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School. As a Rhodes Scholar, she graduated with distinction from Oxford University with an MSc in Financial Economics and an MSc in Economics for Development. Joyce is also recognized as Forbes 30 under 30 (2014) and Wharton 40 under 40 (2015). She speaks Mandarin and Spanish fluently.
Carly Wilson
Managing Director, BlackRock's Global Credit Platform, BlackRock
Carly Wilson, Managing Director, is a member of BlackRock's Global Credit Platform. She is a portfolio manager for the platform's bank loan strategies and global long/short credit strategies. Since joining BlackRock in 2009, Ms. Wilson's investment experience has focused on both single name and sector selection within Credit, as well as fund-level risk management. Her bank loan experience spans mandate types, including daily liquidity mutual funds, semi-liquid offshore funds, CLOs and separate accounts managed on behalf of a global client base with bespoke needs. On behalf of the platform's Global Long/Short Credit Fund, Ms. Wilson focuses on asset allocation and cross-market relative value, as well as single name alpha generation and risk budgeting. In this role, she invests long and short in many global markets - including credit, rates and equities, in both cash and derivatives. Ms. Wilson is currently on the Board of Directors of the Loan Syndications & Trading Association (LSTA). Prior to her current role, Ms. Wilson worked at multi-strategy hedge fund R3 Capital where she focused on credit research and portfolio management. Previously, she worked at Lehman Brothers in Global Principal Strategies as part of the capital structure arbitrage investment team. Ms. Wilson began her career in equity trading at Lehman Brothers. Ms. Wilson earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.
Juhua Zhu
Founder, Aigen Investment Management
Juhua Zhu founded Aigen Investment Management in early 2018. Aigen is a global investment management firm that employs diversified systematic strategies to deliver consistent returns. Prior to that, Juhua was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley in Institutional Equity Division based in New York. She was researching on systematic trading strategies in global equity markets since she joined the Firm in 2005. Juhua holds a Ph.D. degree from Princeton University, with a major in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Operations Research and Financial Engineering. Her academic research was focused on pattern recognition, computer vision, and multimedia processing.
Vivian Lau
Managing Partner and Founder, One Tusk Investment Partners
W. Vivian Lau is the Managing Partner and Founder of One Tusk Investment Partners (“One Tusk”). Prior to One Tusk, Vivian was the Senior Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Serengeti Asset Management (“Serengeti”) until January 2015, where she joined as a Founding Partner in October 2008. Serengeti was an opportunistic, value-based investing platform that was founded in September 2007. During her tenure, she helped to grow the organization to $1.5 bn of AUM with 30+ people. In 2006, Vivian was promoted to Managing Director at Goldman Sachs at the age of 28. In the same year, she also became the Co-Head of the Multi-Strategy Investing business (MSI). MSI was a multi- billion dollar AUM platform that opportunistically invested across equities and credit. It was a 20 person investment team within the Goldman Sachs Special Situations Group (SSG), the largest global proprietary investment platform within the firm. From 2006 to 2008, she also oversaw the E&P Capital lending platform, which was a joint venture between SSG and J. Aron Commodities division. She was a member of the Americas SSG Investment Committee and Specialty Lending Investment Committee from 2006 to 2008. Prior to her 2006 promotion, Vivian was a Senior Investment Pod leader in Goldman Sachs MSI business, leading equity and debt investments in the Energy, Healthcare, Materials, Industrials, and Liquidations, from 2004 to 2006. She joined the Special Situations Investing (SSI) business in 2002 as a Research Associate. Vivian helped to broaden the mandate and grow the business at SSI, which was renamed MSI in 2004. She began her career at Goldman Sachs in July 2000 as an analyst on the Distressed Bank Loan Research team. Vivian graduated from Harvard University in June of 2000 with a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics. Vivian currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Cabinet for the Harvard University Paulson School of Engineering, Arts, and Sciences (SEAS) since 2017, co-chairing the Dean’s Corporate Task Force Initiative in the 2019 to 2020 school year. She also served on the Campaign Committee for SEAS and co-chaired the Harvard Class of 2000 15th and 10th Reunion Committees. In addition, she served on the board of the Achievement Frist Crown Heights Elementary and Middle School from 2010 to 2013.
