MESSAGE FROM PASTOR VALERIA
Dear Trinity Church,

The seasons are changing, and so are many other things at Trinity! God is keeping us on our toes. 
It's been an emotional time with goodbyes, welcoming new staff, gathering in the sanctuary again and for coffee hour in a different way. 
Allyn and I have been busy cleaning out the parsonage and getting ready for our move to Attleboro. 
Change is always unsettling, and exciting at the same time. There are new things to discover, new opportunities to learn and grow as individuals, as persons of faith, and as a church community. We don't yet know what those opportunities are, and where they will lead us, but God does. So let us put our faith and trust in God, let us throw all of our worries and anxieties on God. God can handle them, and God will help us handle them. During last Sunday's sermon, I shared this prayer by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin:

Trust in the Slow Work of God 

Above all, trust in the slow work of God.
We are, quite naturally, impatient in everything
to reach the end without delay.
We should like to skip the intermediate stages.
We are impatient of being on the way to something
unknown, something new.
And yet it is the law of all progress that it is made
by passing through some stages of instability – 
and that it may take a 
very long time.

And so I think it is with you.
Your ideas mature gradually – let them grow.
Let them shape themselves, without undue haste.
Don’t try to force them on, as though you could be
today what time
(that is to say, grace and circumstances acting on
your own good will)
will make you tomorrow.

Only God could say what this new spirit gradually
forming within you will be.
Give our [God] the benefit of believing that [God’s] hand
is leading you,
and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself in  
suspense and incomplete.

Starting the week of October 4, I will be in Northborough on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Tuesdays and Saturdays I will be working from home and Friday is my day off. But even on my Northborough days you will not always find me in the office! I may be visiting someone or building connections to our wider community. If you'd like to meet with me, please call or email to schedule a time. I will be there for you!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Applefest a success! Between the Cafe, Craft Fair, and Thrift Shop, our net income was about $1700.00 A big thank you to all our musicians. The Open Mic was a big hit. Considering we didn't know until June whether there would even be an Applefest, we did well, AND got to use our new kitchen for the very first time.
FROM THE OUTREACH TEAM
The Northborough Food Pantry is asking for help filling their shelves.  Non perishable items can be dropped off 9:00-5:00 M-F outside of our locked door in the available baskets. They are in need of the following items:
Baked beans
Cake and muffin mixes
Mustard
Relish
Ketchup
Mayo
Salad dressing
Juice boxes
Tuna (white meat )
Snacks (crackers, cookies , popcorn)
Granola bars
Pancake mix
Maple syrup

WELCOME, ROBIN JUBENVILLE!
Welcome, Robin Jubenville!
Robin has agreed to serve as our interim music director. Having an interim will give us time to find the right person who will help us provide a variety of musical styles in worship that will be meaningful to our diverse congregation, and to those who will be joining us in the future.
We appreciate Robin's gifts and skills and look forward to working with her.

Robin Jubenville grew up in West Boylston and started playing piano at the age of 4. As a teen, she spent many after school hours playing pipe organ in the Lutheran church. After earning a BSEE she entered the workforce as an engineer, always maintaining a Sunday morning church job as well. Later in life Robin attended Santa Rosa Junior College in California for music theory, history, and choral classes. Now with 3 children ages 9, 13, and 17 at home she is excited to have more time to learn different aspect of music such as playing from lead sheets, comping, and maybe even play the bells! Robin is looking forward to spending the coming months with us at Trinity.
FROM OUR CHRISTIAN ED DIRECTOR
It has been amazing to have all the kids together again on Sunday’s and for youth group. We have been focusing on creating a faith book during CE. This has led to some really great conversations among the kids and adults. This will be an ongoing project that the kids will work on that will really allow them to deep dive into their own faith and will give them something when we finish that they can bring with them anywhere. We will be having an ice cream social on 10/3 after the parking lot service. Kids are invited to bring a friend and enjoy some ice cream with them afterwards.
During Youth Group we had the opportunity to do some kayaking on Lake Chauncey. 
Next month we have a very special event! Please rsvp to Sherry at trinitycenorthboro@gmail.com if your child can come in order to account for enough food and pumpkins!
We are in need of teachers and assistant teachers. Sherry preps all the material and sends it to teachers to preview before Sunday. If you can help please email her at trinitycenorthboro@gmail.com It is a wonderful way to spend some time with our youth and cultivate intergenerational relationships.

TRINITY BELL CHOIR
Trinity Bell Choir Needs You!
Have you ever wondered what bell ringing is like?

How does a group of people, playing different instruments, generate the bell tunes we’ve heard in worship?

Would you like to learn how to play bells?
I would like to restart Trinity’s bell choir this fall and would be delighted to have you as a bell ringer!  You don’t have to have played bells in the past, I will teach you the basics so you can grow into a bell musician.  We will start with some simple pieces (no solos  ) and grow as people become comfortable with ringing.

If you can read music, that’s great; however, it isn’t a requirement.  We’ve had accomplished musicians in the bell choir as well as people who didn’t know anything about music.  There are a number of videos on YouTube which you can use to learn the basics of reading music as well as learning the basics of handbell ringing.  If you’re interested in learning, I’ll share the links to these online resources.

Rehearsals will be from 7:00 – 8:15 PM on Sundays, once we start and yes, we will be wearing masks.  The choir will be open to everyone high school age and older.

If you’re interested in being part of a handbell choir, please send me an email.  Let me know your contact information, if you can read music, and if you’ve played an instrument.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Community Meal Take-Out

We have resurrected Community Meals but in a to-go manner and we need your help.   

We will be ordering $5 meals from local food establishments and distributing them to our community meals guests to-go, every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Trinity Church. Various organizations have committed to monetary donations for these entrees. 

But, you can't have a meal without servers, water and dessert. We are looking for volunteers to sign up to donate a case of water or 2 dozen individually wrapped desserts and/or stand in the parking lot and deliver the meals to guests in their parked cars. All guidelines of social distancing will be observed.
