CARVER VOICES - MAY 2022
NEW DATA FROM OUR CARVER MARKET

During the month of April, Carver Center
distributed 14,669 pounds of food through our Carver Market operations. That included
8,341 pounds of groceries (meats, canned foods boxed and bagged goods) AND 6,327 pounds of fresh produce.

That food was distributed to 824 people who visited our Carver Market during the month of April.
OUR DINNER @ NOON VOLUNTEERS & SUPPORTERS

Our Dinner @ Noon Saturday programming welcomed volunteers from the Community Synagogue of Rye (picture), St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Church of the Resurrection (picture 2), Redemption Community Church and Rye Presbyterian Church (Picture 3). They all helped with their time and support during this past month.

Dinner @ Noon will continue through the month of May (except for May 28). Join us for a hot lunch and some great conversation. First come, first served for 40 people. This FREE community dinner is served at 11:00am.
THANK YOU FOR SPRINGING INTO BRIGHTER FUTURES WITH US ON APRIL 23!

Our Spring Benefit was a great success thanks to our hardworking event committee, Yvette Hammel (Chair), Laura Iverson, Molly Mahoney, Blair Metrailler, & Claire Steinberg, our Table Hosts, the 340+ guests who attended and the many who raised their paddles to support our work.

Thanks to our entertainment, Naked Soul. We all danced the night away to their soulful sound.

We look forward to seeing you next year when we will be celebrating our 80th!

WE ARE PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL AND HEALTHY LIVING RESOURCES TO OUR COMMUNITY

We're partnering with many Westchester county organizations to provide the latest health and wellness information to the people who come to our Carver Market.

Project Hope Crisis counsellors stopped by to provide information about the impact the COVID pandemic has had on mental health. They also made themselves available if anyone wanted to talk privately.

Feeding Westchester's “Just Say Yes” nutritionist came by to do a cooking demo and tasting during Market hours. A delicious and healthy taco salad was prepared and recipes were made available to our guests in both English and Spanish.

Westchester County Board of Health's Health Promotion staff was on hand to conduct a community health assessment. They provided free COVID tests, tick kits and hand sanitizers. (bottom)
