I am pleased to announce that Eric Gobiel has been appointed Director of Athletics effective June 1. Mr. Gobiel currently serves as the Director of Athletics at Nichols College. In his new position, Mr. Gobiel will enhance the University’s student-athlete experience, increase enrollment and fundraising, and encourage department-wide competitiveness.

Through this appointment, Assumption recommits itself to an athletic program that provides student-athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest levels of NCAA Division II athletics and pursue an education that will awaken in them a sense of wonder and purpose. The University community looks forward to Mr. Gobiel’s leadership of the Department of Athletics and his contributions to providing our student-athletes with an exceptional experience.

This appointment follows the March announcement of Christine Lowthert in which she shared that her last day at the University would be May 31. On behalf of the University community, I would like to thank Ms. Lowthert for her many years of service to Assumption in the Department of Athletics in several roles, currently as the Director.
