Gifts of Young People Worship

Last Sunday the children and Youth of Woodhaven Presbyterian and the Ghanaian Fellowship gave us the gift of their worship leadership. Those worship leaders were:
Evie Bennett
Joey George
Fletcher Meese
Elikem Osae
Enyonom Osae
Esinam Osae
Eyram Osae
Daniel Webb
Lydia Webb
The Spirit was definitely moving through the Sanctuary! Remember that everyone has different gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit that gives those gifts and helps show us how to use them.
Woodhaven's Children Minister to our Community

"Be ye doers of the Word . . ." James 1:22

Sunday mornings at 9:30, our children meet for Faith Formation. Teachers of our multi-age group use a curriculum that includes activities called “Practicing the Practice” which is applying what we learn in our Bible story to ministry in our community.

Two examples of this are illustrated in the pictures below, showing our children assembling trail mix packets with messages of love and encouragement. Those caring gifts were distributed on two different occasions by members of our Meals on Wheels Team. The folks receiving those gifts were extremely grateful and told us to tell our children/young disciples Thank You Very Much!!

As it should be, Discipleship and Missions work together to show God’s love to our world. Thank you Woodhaven Children!
Church News
Gentlemen,

The Woodhaven Men's Group will meet this Saturday, May 14, Hancock Hall, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Several Woodhaven guys attended the conference at Mo-Ranch and had a great experience. We would like to share some of the highlights with you. Also, conversation on what it means to "Be a Man in today's world".
Fellowship, food and good conversation!!!

See you Saturday morning!!! Peter
Bible Story
Friends,
Jesus is RISEN! ALLELUIA!

Did you all know it's still Easter? Easter is filled with so much joy that it can't be contained in just one Sunday, so it has to be spread out across many weeks...all the way to Pentecost!

Since Easter is a whole season, not just one day, the color of our cloth is still white. The cloth continues to remind us of Jesus' Resurrection and of how much God loves us! The other symbols in our Sacred Space signal to us that this time is holy and God is always with us.

Today's story is about how the disciples were fishing and did not expect to see Jesus on the beach!

Remember that YOU are a Beloved Child of God (no matter how old you are!) Hallie & David

Worshipful Work

Sunday, May 22!
After a shortened worship service, we will move to Hancock Hall to pack hygiene kits for homeless people in Dallas. This operation is set up by CleanUpUSA, who will deliver the supplies to us and we will assemble the hygiene kits. CleanUpUSA will deliver them as part of their comprehensive operation to improve the quality of life for homeless people.

Enjoy fellowship combined with humanitarian work.
Last Sunday, Woodhaven celebrated "Gifts of Young People". Here are some photos from last week's children's activities at the NESSL church in Hasakeh, Syria.
Discipleship
Thank you!!

God calls us all to grow in knowledge and wisdom; to go and tell what we have seen, heard and learned. These people were called by God through the voice of the church to serve in the educational ministry of this church.

Congregation Creation Care Check-in

Join us after Worship on May 15 for a CCC check in. Be prepared to share how these Creation Care classes have changed your life! We will be gathering both onsite and on Zoom.
