IF YOU HAVE A MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION

Myth-Busting Session: Mental Health in the Workplace

All employees, in companies large and small, will experience stress. This stress may be job related, but more commonly, these human stressors include other elements of employees’ lives: a sick family member; marital strife; financial worry; and, most recently, anxiety over the COVID19 pandemic.

Looking After Our Mental Health
As countries introduce measures to restrict movement as part of efforts to reduce the number of people infected with COVID-19, more and more of us are making huge changes to our daily routines.
The new realities of working from home, temporary unemployment, home-schooling of children, and lack of physical contact with other family members, friends and colleagues take time to get used to. Adapting to lifestyle changes such as these, and managing the fear of contracting the virus and worry about people close to us who are particularly vulnerable, are challenging for all of us. They can be particularly difficult for people with mental health conditions.

TROPHY CABINET
I wanted to congratulate each of you on the BEST Missouri Employment Conference that I have attended to date. I loved the virtual format! I didn’t have to get dressed up, drive to Jefferson City, seat in those hard conference chairs, no waiting in line for the bathroom between sessions, could snack during the session, and didn’t feel intimidated to ask questions like I would have in a room full of people. This was much more private and the presenters were able to get to all the questions.

In addition to that, the speakers were AMAZING!!! I don’t know where you found David Bartley, but you could not have found a better keynote presenter. He had me crying through much of it and I was so glad I was at home and not at a conference hall. I was a mess, but he was so inspiring. Also loved Sarah Davidson and all the real life metrics and formulas that we can use to be better, represented at the executive level. Great material and presenter.

I hope that the Missouri Employment Conference will consider being a Virtual Conference again. It was amazing, relaxing, and SO MUCH MORE!

NOTES FROM NAN & SUE

Reflecting back on the 4th annual conference May 6th, sure we could have cancelled the event due to COVID-19. However, we understood the commitment we made to our attendees, speakers and sponsors and knew the show must go on .

We are grateful to ALL for being so flexible to help us pull off our first-ever live streaming event. By all accounts it was a huge success!

Well done, everyone! Well done!
