Administrator's Corner

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Back to School Night! If you weren’t able to make it, feel free to reach out to teachers with any questions or concerns.

Sports have started and we are using a new online ticketing platform, Ticket Spicket. To make entering games more convenient, purchase tickets online at https://events.ticketspicket.com/agency/5ddc9944-ac1e-4368-88b2-c7da12d7383d . Not all events require tickets. Fall sports requiring tickets are football and volleyball.

This week is Homecoming Week! Encourage your student to participate in the many activities and attend the dance on Saturday, September 18th from 8-11pm at TJ. Tickets to the dance can be purchased at school during lunch and after school.

Congratulations to our students below who are one of 32,000 students from across the country to earn academic honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Programs! These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups through College Board’s Student Search Service. Students should have been emailed a certificate from College Board and will be honored at TJ's Honor Roll Assembly on the 23rd of September.

Spirit Wear Team
We are eager to provide lots of opportunities for students to get outfitted in their spirit wear. We are building a team of spirit wear volunteers. If you want to join the team, let us know by emailing tjhspto@gmail.com. We need help for the coming Spirit Week and Homecoming football game.

Homecoming
Homecoming is next week (9/13-18) and students are looking forward to fun events all week long. We would love to have parents support the homecoming dance by providing goodies for our kids to enjoy at the event. Please check out the HOCO Dance Signup to see if you can contribute to it. If you can't drop off food but want to contribute, you can always make a donation to the PTO by visiting the PTO store here TJHS PTO Donation | TJHS PTO (square.site).

Thank you for your support, TJ Families! Go Spartans!

Welcome back to school, Spartans! We'd love to have even more families join the King Soopers Community Reward Program. This is FREE money that supports TJ students and the school community. From April through June, 89 families participated which generated a donation of $1,500 to the PTO. Thank you to all who participated! It is so easy to join - all you have to do is pick TJ as your rewards partner and then shop at King Soopers as you normally would. TJ receives a percentage of all purchases!!
It is easy to sign up. To get the benefits, you must register for the rewards program here...
  1. Go to https://www.kingsoopers.com/topic/king-soopers-community-rewards and sign in to your digital account or create a new one. Make sure your loyalty card number or alternate ID is associated with your digital account.
  2. Click on Enroll Now
  3. Search for Thomas Jefferson High School Partners or use code UT036
  4. Click Enroll
That's it! You are now ready to earn FREE money for the TJ community. At the point of purchase, you must swipe your loyalty card or type in your alternate ID for your purchases to apply to TJ.
It takes approximately 10 days for the King Soopers Community Rewards total to begin displaying on your receipt. TJ receives payments from King Soopers quarterly. The percentage TJ receives varies by quarter.
You can view the total you earned during the last quarter by signing into your King Soopers account and selecting My Account. There is a tab for the Community Rewards Program. You can verify that TJ is listed as your Community Rewards beneficiary and see the amount you've contributed.
Thank you for your support!

Welcome back, Spartans! We’re working on getting all of the spirit wear into the new home inside the school in the front lobby. Hopefully, we’ll be able to open that in September.

Until then, if you would like a TJ hoodie, t-shirt, PJ pants or joggers email us at TJHS.Store@gmail.com and we’ll help you get the items you want.

The chromebook you have received is YOURS for the rest of the time that you are at TJ.

You are expected to bring it to school EVERY day and to CHARGE it every night.

You are financially responsible for that chromebook. If you lose your chromebook or power cord, you will have to pay for it. If you damage your chromebook, you will have to pay for it. If your dog eats your power cord, you will have to pay for it.
Keep your chromebook safe and protected from damage. We recommend a case or sleeve that you can pick up at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, etc. Please do not put stickers on the chromebook or mark them in any way. A sleeve or case is the best way to mark it as yours.

There are very few extra chromebooks. Do not expect a loaner on days that you forget yours. See Mr. Skari about the slim possibility of getting one.
There are 3-4 paraprofessional jobs available here at TJ! The job would pay $15 and would be from 7:20 am-2:50 pm. Please contact the main office if you are interested.
Calling all entrepreneurs! Interested in building your own business and working for yourself? Consider the Launch 50/50 Expereince where you will be able learn the basics of building your business and shadowing local small businesses in a comprehensive internship experience.

Questions? Please visit Mr. Mason in the Counseling Office or via email at matt_mason@dpsk12.net!
