Teachers of the Year

Our ten FVSD teachers were selected for their dedication to the students, families, and communities they serve. Each educator displays initiative, professionalism, and integrity. Courreges Teacher of the Year

Rachelle Coy

"Rachelle Coy has played an integral role in the lives of students and teachers since she began in FVSD. She is such an incredible wealth of knowledge and engages her students in ways we all admire. Mrs. Coy continues to be a force for good on the Courreges campus. We are so lucky to have her here."

Cox Teacher of the Year

Jenifer Hopkins

"Jennifer Hopkins is an outstanding educator. One of her brilliant ideas...the Multicultural Fashion Show, which grew into a Cox community favorite. Mrs. Hopkins is admired for her work ethic, optimism, and dedication to all students."

Fulton Teacher of the Year

Staci Trestik

"Staci Trestik goes above and beyond the call of duty for her students and peers. She is respected and loved as a mentor and friend, and she forms lasting relationships with those who have the opportunity to learn from her and know her generous spirit."

Carissa Nunn

Nikki Pham

Newland Teacher of the Year

Michelle Siefker

"Michelle Siefker is truly a master teacher with a wealth of experience and knowledge. She believes it is her responsibility to help students achieve their best. Her energy and enthusiasm are infectious. Mrs. Siefker gets her students actively involved in their own learning, so they love it."

Oka Teacher of the Year

Mai Pham

Plavan Teacher of the Year

Kristi Manthorne

"Kristi Manthorne is a learner and always strives to improve her craft. She is dependable and impresses all with her knowledge, flexibility, and thoroughness as she plans 'hands-on' learning activities for her students."

Talbert Teacher of the Year

Loren Howard

"Loren Howard is a valuable and important component in the positive family-like culture at Talbert. One of Loren's students wrote the following, 'He changed my perspective on school and reminded me that it could be fun. He made me love learning and had a huge impact on me as a student.'"

Tamura Teacher of the Year

Becca Hom

"Becca Hom is an amazing teacher and leader. She is a part of everything that makes Tamura great. Becca has a way with students that is magical. They love learning and feel safe taking risks while in her care. She has high standards for her students and pushes them to reach beyond their potential."

Meeting Dates

Families of incoming Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students are invited to visit their home school site on Thursday, February 23rd, from 1:30-2:30. Meet the teachers and hear from our principals and school office managers. If you have neighbors with little folks who are turning 5 years old by September 1, 2023, they are eligible for Kindergarten! Children turning 4 years old by April 2, 2023, are eligible for TK (Transitional Kindergarten).
