Note of Appreciation & Farewell

Dear Parishioners, Colleagues and Friends,
Seven years ago, God blessed me with the opportunity to serve St. Matthew’s Cathedral as Pastoral Associate for Faith Formation. As I prepare to leave my position this month, a few memories stand out in particular: hosting Cardinal Sean O’Malley, OFM Cap for the Faith Formation component of St. Matthew’s 175th Anniversary celebration; initiating the Paulist Landings program here at St. Matthew's for a parish community approach to welcoming home inactive Catholics; and the experience of presenting the 6-week Renew International's "Healing Our Church" series for more than 30 people who responded to the invitation during a particularly difficult period in the history of the Church of Washington.
I have appreciated the privilege of providing Faith Formation experiences through our Sunday programs for children and parents, sacramental preparation, RCIA, Bible Studies, lectures and days of recollection, and spiritual direction. I am grateful to the many generous and committed volunteers and benefactors who helped me to bring people closer to Christ, and to Msgr. Jameson for entrusting me with this work. I am especially gratified to have continued these ministries without interruption during the pandemic through virtual platforms, engaging people beyond our parish boundaries.
Please pray for me and I will continue to remember all of you in my prayers.
