Parent Input Needed on GMSD Grading Practices
GMSD wants to understand stakeholders' perceptions of and experiences with district grading policies and practices. Your responses will support GMSD in developing a district statement of purpose as well as in revising current district grading policies.

This study is for research purposes only: all information you provide will be maintained on a confidential basis by Hanover Research and will only be reported to GMSD in an aggregate form, so please be candid in your responses.

For the purposes of this survey, “ grading practices” are defined as the methods used by teachers to arrive at an academic grade that is reported at a quarter or semester. Practices include weighting of student work, procedures for late or missing work, reassessment, or resubmission.
Coordinated School Health March Initiative "Hydrate for Health"
Join us in March as we focus on proper hydration and adequate water in-take. There's a challenge specifically for staff and a separate challenge for students.

Student Challenge:
-Elementary: Students will create their own water themed superhero! Click here for instructions.

-Middle & High: Select any of below options (directions attached to email)
1.)   Make a power point presentation that shows the importance of staying hydrated.
2.)   Make a proposal that explains how our schools can better promote staying hydrated by drinking water.
3.)   Create a short story about staying hydrated and its importance for the human body.

Staff Challenge:
Track your water in-take over the month of March. The link below will take you to our hydrate for health page on the CSH website. There's a Google Form where you'll enter your daily water in-take and resources, such as water in-take calculator and a PDF from YMCA to make tracking your in-take easier.

Winners:
Each GMSD building will have a teacher and student winner selected that will receive a brand new YETI water bottle (you'll get to choose the color you want).
