KW Roatan proudly sponsored the 16th annual fundraising event, Music Festival for the Angels, which took place on Saturday 11th March. This event is one of our Island’s yearly highlights, featuring an exciting lineup of talented bands and musicians from Roatan, the mainland of Honduras, Central, South, and North America who perform a diverse range of musical genres.

 

The outdoor event at Sol & Mar, Sandy Bay, is held each year to raise funds for two of the most deserving charitable not-for-profit organizations on the island:  Clinica Esperanza and SOL International FoundationClinica Esperanza has been providing low-cost or free medical care to Roatan’s population for over twenty years, ensuring that medical treatment is accessible to those in need. SOL International Foundation supports the Island’s youth through educational opportunities, after-school activities, sports programs, and more.


The concert was headlined by Steve Grisbrook of Northern Lights, an acclaimed Canadian blues band, Angel Rios, a superb violinist known throughout Honduras amongst a myriad of local musicians and bands that took to the stage and entertained the crowds from 3pm until late.

 

Along with the outstanding musical performances, the fun-packed event also featured a fire dancer and an array of local vendors and artisans offering a diverse selection of food and handmade goods. Festival goers could indulge in a range of culinary delights, including burritos, sushi, and the island’s renowned fried pork while admiring crafted jewelry and artwork or participating in a silent auction.

 

Of course, KW Roatan jumped at the chance of supporting this worthy cause and took advantage of the opportunity to showcase our brand to the wide audience attracted to this extravaganza. We tended a stand right at the entrance, where guests were exuberantly greeted with free merchandise (the beer koozies were a hit for obvious reasons), warm smiles, and an abundance of positive energy.

 

A great time was had by all and definitely a win-win scenario. We got the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our community while promoting our services in a positive light.
