CHAMBER UPDATES | MARCH 30, 2023
Chamber Members-

While the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers”, there is also another transition that takes place in the Spring. The NCAA March Madness ushers in the Major League baseball season around this time each year. If you had an NCAA bracket that included Xavier, NKU, or other top teams, you found yourself disappointed with the Final Four of Florida Atlantic, Miami (of Florida), San Diego State and the UConn Huskies. By the time you read this, many of you will have attended the Reds Opening Day Parade and whether hopeful of a new start for the Reds or anticipating another ho-hum season, the return of baseball is a passage that has been taking place for over 150 years in Cincinnati.

Spring for the Colerain Chamber of Commerce means a plethora (my daughter's favorite word) of upcoming events and opportunities to Connect, Support, and Celebrate across our community. I am excited to announce that the Vintage baseball game will return to Colerain Park on July 3rd at 5pm against the 1869 Redstockings before the fireworks that evening. Speaking of baseball, we have also scheduled a family outing at the Great American Ballpark on June 6th to see the Dodgers and Reds. However, as you can see in the newsletter below, there are many non-sports related events including our next Third Thursday hosted by White Oak Gardens on April 20th and various other small group opportunities.

We are just over two months away from this year's Hometown Hero event being held again at the Willow Event Center on Thursday June 22nd. We will be recognizing three amazing women across our community (pictured below) and as we've done in past years, we'll honor four local veterans. We will again have food-trucks with huge portions, games & entertainment, and returning this year will be bourbon tasting from New Riff Distillery. If your business would like to be a sponsor of the event, please contact me directly. You can register online through the link below for this and all of the events we have going on.

As you may remember, Patti and I were married on the BB Riverboat in August of 2021 just before our last riverboat evening event. On August 4th this year, we will again have an evening on the river hosted by this terrific Chamber member. Tickets will go fast, so be sure to sign up as soon as you can. I am also excited to announce a new leadership program that will take place in October, sponsored by Mercy Health West Hospital; more details will follow in the coming weeks and months.

Finally, having recently completed my 3rd anniversary as your Chamber leader, I am so thankful for all of your support! We have been blessed with a wonderful community that welcomed us with open arms despite being a Cub fan from Chicago and arriving amidst the beginning of the COVID pandemic. As always, please let me know how the Colerain Chamber can help better tell your story and serve your business needs.

All the best and go Reds!
Dave
