Sunapee Happenings
Summer 2021 is now but a memory of good times at Dewey Beach.

There’s a nip in the air and the crunch of fallen leaves beneath our feet as we wander our pathways today.  Boats are in the winter storage, the beaches deserted and summer shops are shuttered.  It’s that quiet time as daylight shortens and nights grow cooler, between robust summer and not quite yet the first snowfall on the hillsides. School classrooms are abuzz with activity and with Halloween just around the corner, there are Pumpkin People everywhere!

Their diverse styles complement one another and their evolving original acoustic sound will bring a smile to your face, rhythm to your feet, and leave you wanting for more. Dayna Talbot: The Power of Remembrance

Opening reception - Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 - 4-6 p.m.
Sawyer Fine Art Center, Marian Graves Mugar Art Gallery

Multi-media and fiber artist Dayna Talbot was a flight attendant for United Airlines on September 11, 2001. On her way to Boston for a medical procedure, she learned the news of the first plane hitting the trade tower. By the time she arrived at Dana Farber, she had heard the news of the second plane and knew immediately that this was terrorism.

library story times
Sunapee’s Abbott Library and the Richards Free Library in Newport have very special story times and activities for children.
The children's department at Richards Free Library is pleased to introduce Little Wiggle Time, a fun and flexible "story time" for those little ones who are busy learning how their bodies move, with a focus on movement and song. We had requests for a Friday time, and an evening time, so we've compromised and settled on Friday evenings at 5pm for now, though that is subject to change.

Watch out for news about our upcoming Reading Pals program, where children will be able to safely and comfortably practice their reading by reading aloud to Dexter, our friendly library cat, or to community volunteer dogs who can't wait to spend time with the kiddos and listen to some stories.
no tricks, just treats here
No Tricks, Just Treats Here: Time to whip up some Halloween treats?

1. This Halloween bark is the perfect combination of crunchy, sweet, gooey, and salty.

2. There's no need to fear these peanut butter spider cookies. They're as adorable as they are addicting!

3. Speaking of adorable... aren't these bat cupcakes the CUTEST?

4. It's impossible not to get wrapped up in these cheesy crescent mummy dogs

5. We can't decide witch of these we're craving more: the hat cookies or the broomsticks!
