PATENT PALOOZA IS BACK!
RECOGNIZING AND CELEBRATING INNOVATION

We are excited to announce that Patent Palooza is back on November 9, 4:00-6:00 pm ET in Ballroom 212A, Gatton Student Center!
It has been too long since we recognized and celebrated our UK innovators. Over the past three fiscal years, we have had many patents, commercialization and startup successes.
Make plans now to join us in celebrating, reconnecting and enjoying delicious food and beverages.
And, since face masks are required, we are having a "Most Innovative Looking" Face Mask competition. So, wear your "innovative looking" face mask and you might win the prize.
We will celebrate over 100 innovators for patents, commercialization deals, and startup activity for FY 2019, 2020 and 2021.

2 UK-LED ORGANIZATIONS WIN SBA AWARDS
|
|
Two innovation programs led by the University of Kentucky are receiving a part of the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) $5.4 million in prizes to support inclusive entrepreneurship in the innovation ecosystem.
The SBA recently announced winners for its Growth Accelerator Fund Competition (GAFC) and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Catalyst competition, a new component aimed at spurring investment in underrepresented communities within the innovation economy at scale.
“UK Innovate and the OTC are honored and grateful to be partnered with such great collaborators as XLerate Health and Jackson State University related to the Catalyst Award, and Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation and Kentucky Commercialization Ventures related to the Growth Accelerator Fund Award,” said UK’s Associate Vice President for Research, Innovation and Economic Impact Ian McClure, J.D.

Gilson Capilouto Ph.D. is Professor Emerita in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Kentucky and Co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer for NFANT Labs, LLC. Atlanta, GA.
She has more than 40 years of clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders and has focused her clinical research on neonatal feeding for the past eighteen years.
Dr. Capilouto is co-inventor of an FDA cleared medical device designed to generate objective metrics related to infant sucking performance- a biomarker for neonatal brain injury and growth prediction.
