December 7, 2020
In Brief
In this issue of the Monday Morning Messenger, TPGA wants to invite you to bid on our holiday auction that ends tomorrow. All proceeds benefit our scholarship fund. Learn more about the auction in our top brief of the morning.

Also, the December 2020 Texas Propane magazine is on its way, but if you haven't received it yet, can't wait to read or you just want a sneak peek into the information-packed issue, read our second story of the morning.

Also, many of you received Paycheck Protection Program loans. The IRS formally came out with a ruling related to tax deductions and PPP loans. If you took out a PPP loan, read our last story of the day and what NPGA and TPGA are trying to provide more relief.

Lastly, multiple Texas propane vehicle grants are expiring, the Propane Education Research Council, Propane Council of Texas and Clean Cities are holding Autogas Answers workshops to educate the propane industry and fleets on these grants and the latest in the propane autogas market.

Check out our Quick Links below for our tire saving program, a link to Propane Service Corporation sale & clearance items launched this morning, and a link to our winter weekly pricing & supply update.

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) & IRS Tax Deductions
What You Need to Know
IRS has ruled that expenses funded through a Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loan are not deductible for 2020 if "the taxpayer reasonably expects to receive forgiveness of the covered loan based on the expenses it paid or accrued during the loan period, even if the taxpayer has not submitted an application for the forgiveness of the covered loan by the end of such taxable year."

Both the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) and Texas Propane Gas Association (TPGA) were part of a coalition of organizations that signed onto a letter to Speaker Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader McConnell, Congressional Majority Leader McCarthy, and Senate Minority Leader Schumer this week urging Congress to pass legislation before the end of the year to allow for these business tax deductions.

NPGA and TPGA are monitoring all COVID-19 legislation closely and will make members aware of new opportunities and any changes that may affect their business on all fronts.
Grants Expiring: Don't Miss Out On These State Funds!
Tune into these Zoom Webinars
Two popular propane vehicle grants that many propane retailers have used over the last couple of years are expiring in the 1st quarter of 2021.

If renewed by the Texas Legislature, their return will likely not be until the 4th quarter of 2021 or 2022.

To educate marketers and fleets, the Propane Council of Texas has teamed up with PERC and Texas Clean Cities Coalitions to hold Autogas Answers sessions. The very informative webinars held via zoom go over propane vs. electric vehicles, upcoming propane engine releases, as well as expiring grants.

Click here to register for the Autogas Answers Alamo Area Clean Cities Coalition session held at 10 AM on December 15, 2020 (ALL FLEETS including propane retailers). You do not have to be from the region to tune in.

Click here to register for the Autogas Answers DFW Area Clean Cities Coalition session held at 10 AM on December 17, 2020 (or those that service the SCHOOL BUS market, interested in getting into that market, and school districts).

Are you from the Houston-Galveston area? Check out the recorded archived information packed PERC Autogas Answers session from December 1, 2020 with co-host H-GAC Clean Cities for all Gulf Coast fleets, click here.
