Hams that they are, Grand Picnic shows their rye humor as they sandwich in tunes as long as we can mustard the strength to keep up. With an open-faced smile, Donna will serve up a premium spread of Wonder-filled dances as we ketchup to her no-loaf contras. The best thing since sliced bread, Grand Picnic rises to the occasion with music you knead. Roll in with your bun and only, it’s the yeast you can do. Don’t be sconed, leave your muffin the car and wear a flour in your hair.

Donna Hunt

Having garnered an excellent national reputation, we are proud that Donna Hunt developed her calling chops at Swingin’ Tern Dances. Calling contras with interesting choreography and variations, Donna is known for utilizing clear, concise instructions to minimize teaching time and maximize dance time. Donna infuses the dancers with confidence, regardless of their skill level, and she enjoys guiding new dancers and challenging experienced ones.

Introducing our new
dance home in Chatham!

Here’s a peek at our new light and airy home in Chatham from our last dance. It has a lovely wood floor and it’s air-conditioned!!

St Pauls enter park.jpg
Our new home is at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 200 Main Street, Chatham, NJ. Enter from Main Street and park behind the church. Return under the portico and enter up the wide steps. There are many restaurants within two blocks of the dance on Main Street: Indian, Soul, Italian, Pakistani, Chinese, Mexican, and American cuisines.
The view from the parking lot behind the church. Walk back to left for the main dance hall entrance. An elevator is available if needed through the door shown in this picture. 50 parking spaces are available in the church lot. A municipal lot may be accessed from Bowers Lane directly across Main Street from the church. The large train station parking lot is two blocks away. Street parking is available.
Large windows are on all four sides of the dance hall providing excellent ventilation. Air conditioning will be available for the summer.
The wood floor is well-worn with great percussive qualities! We can't wait to hear those balances! The kitchen, bathrooms, large foyer, and terrace are just off the dance floor.
Mass Transit from NYC and beyond
We are thrilled to once again have our dance easily accessible by mass transit. The Chatham train station is just two and a half blocks from the dance hall. Use New Jersey Transit from Penn Station in NYC and take the Morris & Essex line terminating at Morristown or Dover. Convenient train times to Chatham are lv 5:11/ar 6:15pm or lv 6:11/ar 7:15. Return trips leave Chatham at 10:35 and 11:35.
Covid Protocol

Proof of Covid Vaccination and wearing face masks are required.

In accordance with CDC and Folk Project policy, face masks are required within the building and while dancing. N95/KN95 masks are preferred but surgical masks have been added to the list of acceptable masks. Please bring your own N95, KN95, FN94, or surgical face mask—we’ll have extra masks at the ticket desk if you forget.

Remember to bring your vaccine card to show at the ticket desk. You will be turned away if you do not have a CDC Covid Vaccination card or approved record indicating you have been fully vaccinated for more than two weeks. Boosters are recommended.

We are maintaining a roster of dancers that have been vaccinated to speed admission at future dances. If you aren’t already on our vaccine list, you may expedite entry by sending an image of your Covid Vaccination card in advance to Doug at dheacock@aol.com. We will add your name to the roster. We are asking for email addresses should there be a need to contact you about an issue at the dance.

Please arrive early. We ask for your patience at check-in.

We will have some individually wrapped snacks for the break. You are welcome to bring your own snacks—if you plan to share, please make sure they are individually wrapped.

Please bring your own water bottle with your name on it [which can be refilled at the kitchen sink]. We will not be providing a punch bowl.
