Phases

From the moment we are born, we start going through phases, even before that actually.

Our first phase takes us from an egg into a human shaped being. The next phase is where we come out of the womb and someone smacks us on the backside to get us to start breathing, something new to be learned.

From there we grow, learning how to walk, how to speak, how to do many things. We pass from babyhood to childhood to adulthood, and back to spirit. Each phase is accompanied by a learning curve, learning how to do new things, learning to let go of things that no longer work for us, and as we grow older, learning to simplify what we are doing because we can not do what we had been doing.

This is where Caring Palms is right now, entering the next phase of life. Since I can no longer do oiled massage without it aggravating physical problems I have, I have to let it go. But that has only been part of what I do. I am still able to do Myofascial Release (MFR) which is a big part of the business, and I am expanding the more spiritual aspects of energy work. These include Reiki, White Light, Mediumship, Meditation, and Trance Work. And those modalities allow me to do general healing, clear energy centers (chakras), align someone energetically, and much more.

While I do miss doing the other work, I need to let it go, no matter how much it feels like I am letting people down. I have to move on to my next phase, and although I keep looking back, I will be focusing on looking ahead and embracing what I have to do. And while my physical abilities are somewhat limited, energetically, I will be growing.

So, please, if you are in need of healing, come see me, and help me welcome this next phase.
Decluttering

We talk about moving on and leaving behind you what you don’t need. We leave behind things like the pain when we were rejected from things, or been hurt by others. We also leave the time that we did things we should not have and paid the price for. We leave all the feelings of despair, anger, hate, anguish, all the feelings of loneliness, of pain, of fear. These are things we don’t need to bring with us as this is not where we are heading. Basically, we are setting ourselves up for success as we take with us only what we need for that. We are decluttering.

In doing this decluttering, we get rid of items we don’t need anymore. If you think of it as moving, you can see the picture. When we move we leave behind tons of stuff that we will no longer need. Some of it finds new homes with other people, some of it is simply trashed. By doing this we take with us less clutter, less things to have around. It also means that we have less things to move.

Caring Palms just went through that. Two years ago, we were in an office of 1,500 square feet. Then we moved into an office of 700 square feet. Now we move again into 132 square feet. Many items that we had been using were sold, given away, some put into storage, and some trashed. And the things kept are moved to the new location. And it feels good.

But decluttering is not just getting rid of things, it is getting rid of thinking patterns that no longer work, getting rid of attitudes that no longer align with our purpose. Creating hope that the energies you are aligning yourself with will grow to be plentiful. One has to walk away from things that are no longer done, and embrace what is being done as that brings us into the future that we want to create. We need to stop talking about.. “Well, we used to this, and that, and we were really good at it, and I do miss it and wish I still did some of it”. It now needs to be more positive looking at the future, instead of looking at the past, looking to positive growth instead of things holding us back.

Through this, we declutter the physical things we have, but we also declutter our minds, our souls, our being. What can you do to declutter?
Featured Shirt of the Month
Since people do not see the t-shirt designs too often, a new shirt will be featured each month.

Compassion Words
By Brian Dean

While the words in here came to me while doing a reading, they are important for life, important in our approach to life, and important in how we go through life.

Let’s start with Compassion. One needs compassion for others and for themselves. We need to care about the people we are working for, working with, or are working for us. We need to make sure that that what we do lives up to a high standard as we care about the result. Another spinoff of Compassion is Passion. We need to have passion for what we do, and if we don’t we need to find something that we are passionate about. These two words make us care about what we do (and I’m not just talking about our jobs).

I worked for a contractor for the government years ago, and someone I worked with used to say, “Good enough for government work.” It was like saying I can do a half-assed job because it is good enough for those that I work for. Why would anyone who cares about what they do want to do a poor job? Again, compassion and passion make us strive to be better, to be the best.

Next is Empathy. We have to understand those around us and know how they feel. This will drive us to be better at what we do while being better at being human. If we understand how others feel, why would be ever do something to hurt someone? It means showing kindness and consideration, those things we hope they show us.

And then there is Love. We need to love people, and we’re not talking romantic love, but love of what someone is or what they do (I love the way they make me laugh). It brings with it the understanding that everyone is here for a reason. That reason may be to challenge you to make you grow, or to support you when you do stand up for yourself. If we accept that, we can love their purpose as well as our own.

But now when we move to what we do, we need to do it with Intention. And that intention must be pure, centered, and loving, whether it be talking care of someone, or bagging groceries. My intention is to do the best job I can, create the best things possible. When I work, I approach what I do with a purity and clarity of intention… to help. But I also have that same approach if I’m gardening, or building something, or putting down floors. This is one creating the guiding path for them to follow.

Next comes Ethics. If your intentions are pure, then you should be working ethically and morally. Ethics is doing something good for positive reasons, to have no underlying purpose. This means working in the light, the power of positiveness. Always be ethical in your approach, and if your intentions are pure, then you will be.

And with these, we finally come to Follow Up, or Follow Through, probably the latter is the better. If we have the care, the feelings, and the love to set pure intentions and work ethically, then we need to follow through and complete what it is that we are doing. Only by concluding what we start, we make change, change on the very high levels and the very low as change needs to occur at all levels for change to continue to grow.

So have compassion, and passion, and empathy, and love, and pure intentions, and then follow through. And most of all, work with kindness.
Leave a Review, Enter Our Drawing
Leave a review and be entered in a drawing to win a free session. If you have enjoyed the services at Caring Palms, whether that be massage, Reiki, or classes, or something else, please leave a review on one of the review sites like Google, Facebook, or any of the many places that take reviews. Lately, it has been these reviews that have been bringing new clients into the studio, and all have been glad they found us.

Anyone leaving a review will be entered into the monthly drawing to win a free session (massage or Reiki). Reviews made between the first and last day of each month will go into the drawing, and the winner will be pulled on the first of every month. Thank you all that have left reviews, and congratulations to the people who have already won free sessions.

Note: We are asking people not to post on Yelp unless you are a person that posts there regularly. Yelp has some qualifying software that looks at each review, and if you are a regular poster, your comment is deemed "Relevant", otherwise your comment is marked "Not Relevant". While Caring Palms has 20 5-star reviews on Yelp, only seven of them are deemed "Relevant", and one has to go through another step to see the remaining 13.
Reiki Class Schedule

The following is a list of currently scheduled Reiki Classes. Each class (unless otherwise marked) currently has a status of 'Scheduled'. This means that a date has been set, but no one has signed up for it yet. Once a deposit has been received for a class, the status will be 'Confirmed'. Any class marked as 'Closed' has filled up. (Note: In some cases, one may be able to enter a class marked 'Closed' with permission of the instructor.)

All classes require a minimum of two students for them to happen.

You may sign up for any of these through the website, or over the phone with a credit card.
