Labor Day Updates
City Hall offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.

Trash Collection will be delayed until Tuesday. Branch chipping is still schedule for Friday.

Household Hazardous/Shred Waste
Lovin' Lathrup Village Fall Clean Up
Gather your friends and family and join us in removing trash and debris from our culverts and ditches, and getting the Southfield Road corridor ready for fall and show your love for Lathrup Village! The clean up will take place on September 26th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

If you’d like to receive an absent voter ballot, you must first complete an Absent Voter Application, which can be found here.

If residents completed and returned to the Clerk an Absent Voter application for the August 4th election, you do not need to complete another AV application because it’s good for both August/November 2020 elections.

Clerk’s Office will receive absentee ballots for November 3rd election during the last week of September and will mail them shortly after.

Fall Programs Now Enrolling!
Fall programs are now accepting enrollment. These programs have been designed with safety in mind for participants and for instructors. You will notice location changes, limits on the number of participants and increased costs. The price increases are meant to go to the instructors for the additional risks they are taking in offering their services to the community. The following classes will be offered:

  • Bus Trip to Belle Isle, Friday Sept. 18
  • Walking Club, Thursdays from 9/24-10/29
  • Coffee with Chris, Fridays from 9/25-10/30
  • Strength and Cardio, Mondays from 9/21-10/26 or Wednesdays from 9/23-10/28
  • Yoga, Tuesdays from 9/22-10/27
  • Zumba
  • Kids Tile Workshop, Wed. Sept. 15

Street Improvement Bond Millage
The Infrastructure Study Group has recommended a proposal to improve 7.1 miles of city residential streets over 3 years, starting in Spring 2021.

The proposal appears on the November 3, 2020 ballot for Lathrup Village residents. The cost to the average homeowner would average $263 per year.

To help educate residents on the facts surrounding this this proposal, the City has created an informational website:


The site also has an interactive street map that will easily allow you to determine your annual cost, based upon the current taxable value of your home, should the proposal be approved by the residents.

CENSUS 2020 Updates
With a little over a month left before the 2020 Census ends Sept. 30, all residents are asked to complete the Census online, by phone or the form mailed to their home. It’s just that simple!
In an effort to increase the response rate, census volunteers also be going door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, visiting events to get residents to complete the Census on the spot. 
Residents can complete the Census right from their home by: 
  • Going online to: my2020census.gov
  • Calling (844) 330-2020 (English) 
  • Calling (844) 468-2020 (Spanish) 
  • Completing the form that was mailed to their home 

OAKLAND COUNTY
RENT, MORTGAGE & UTILITY RELIEF PROGRAM


Oakland County is dedicating Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, from the federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, for eligible Oakland County residents to pay up to three months of past-due rent, mortgage, and utility payments as a result of a temporary job loss, reduction in work hours or other income hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
