Dear Parents & Guardians,

We are writing to request your response to a short survey to indicate your intent for the return of your student to in-person learning. As anticipated, Contra Costa County lifted some restrictions on in-person learning this week. We are now progressing toward a hybrid model of in-person and distance learning for the students.

Your response will be a preliminary indication of your intent. The response data will inform our planning and refinement of our hybrid and distance learning plans that were developed in the summer. We will ask for a final commitment from families prior to moving to the hybrid model after we share a more detailed description of the options. While we anticipate the majority of our students will return to the hybrid on-campus instructional model, we recognize that some students will need or choose to remain in distance learning. We are committed to supporting these students with robust distance learning and school connection for the remainder of the year.

The survey is not anonymous as we need clear understanding of the intent of our students. We ask that you submit only one survey per student. The survey is due no later than Monday, October 19, at 5:00pm. We will present the survey results as well as an update to our plan for the return to in-person learning at the October 21 Governing Board Meeting.

Thank you for your partnership in planning for this next transition for our students.

Sincerely,

John Nickerson
