FVSD students, staff, and families wore gold on International Childhood Cancer Day and made donations to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. First Class Pizza hosted a dine-out to further our fundraising efforts. What a great community effort! It's not too late to donate HERE.

Meeting Dates

Families of incoming Kindergarten (K) and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students are invited to visit their home school site on Thursday, February 23, from 1:30-2:30 pm. Meet the teachers and hear from our principals and school office managers. If you have neighbors with little folks turning five years old by September 1, 2023, they are eligible for Kindergarten! Children turning four years old by April 2, 2023, are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten. Enrollment opens on February 24.

Intradistrict Transfer Window Now Open

February 1 through March 18

Families within the Fountain Valley School District boundaries who wish to attend a school other than their home school may apply for an intradistrict transfer to a FVSD school of their choice. The window for intradistrict transfer requests will be open from February 1 through March 18. Please complete an intradistrict transfer request form and turn it in to your home school, with proof of residency documents.

"Cool the Pizza" Breathing Technique

This week we are talking about mindfulness strategies. “Cool the pizza” is a breathing exercise to help your child become more aware of their bodily sensations. Tell them to breathe in through their nose like they're smelling a piece of pizza. Then, tell them to blow out through their mouth, like they're cooling the piece of hot pizza. Practice this often when your child is calm, then remind them to "Cool the pizza" when things heat up.

Teacher Art Coordinators at each of our ten school sites are collecting student artwork to display at our FVSD 20th Annual District Art Show, Let Your Art Shine. Save the date for this event, Tuesday, April 18, 2023, 4:00-7:00 pm at our FVSD District Office. There will be interactive art stations, food trucks, middle school choir performances, and fun for the whole family.
