Walk for Alzheimer's
As we know, Alzheimer's is a devastating disease and we see the effects of this disease on a daily basis.
Team members from ExquisiCare will be walking on May 29th to raise funds to improve the quality of life for those living with Alzheimer's and their families. Through awareness and education, there is hope.

Bowl Away Alzheimer's
On Monday, June 6th, ExquisiCare will be hosting a "Bowl-a-rama" at the Bonnie Doon Bowling Lanes to raise funds for Alzheimer's awareness. All are welcome to join us. Bowl two games for $15
"Good" Cholesterol
A new study suggests that "good" cholesterol may help protect against Alzheimer's.
"This study represents the first time that small HDL particles in the brain have been counted," said study co-author Dr. Hussein Yassine. 
The Small Home Model
On May 4th, President Dawn Harsch, was delighted to show off the ExquisiCare Model to Minister of Health, Jason Copping and MLA Richard Gotfried. At ExquisiCare, we are continuously advocating for this “Small Home Model” for Long Term Care, and for the elders residing in our homes to be financially supported by the government. We look forward to the implementation of the recommendations in the Facility Based Continuing Care Review that stated, many times, the benefits to the Small Home Model and also indicated a funding model is under review. 
Excessive Napping
It has been referenced that napping in the day may reduce not only the quantity but also the quality of sleep at night.
According to a study published Alzheimer's and Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer's Association, excessive napping could be a sign of dementia.

We were very excited to celebrate our
10-Year Anniversary with the ExquisiCare team on May 5, 2022! Team members enjoyed a gourmet meal and long service awards. Awards were handed out to team members who have been with us for many years, including Nicole who has been with us from day ONE!
