What's happening at St Antoninus?

This Sunday:
√  THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
There are two Masses:
  • 8 am in Rectory Chapel
  • 10 am in Main Church
9am is Holy Hour

This Sunday at 9:15am, we will pray a "Rosary for Life" on the front lawn of the rectory, before the Most Holy Blessed Sacrament. Join us as we intercede for God's mercy against all the horrific murders being perpetuated everywhere, especially in the mother's womb.
More inside- see Fr Joseph's letter.

√ This Sunday we are celebrating Fr Joseph's 30th Year Anniversary as a beloved priest of Jesus Christ. (His actual anniversary is the day after, Monday May 30.) Originally, we were planning a grand celebration as befits a 30 year anniversary of a pastor- but Fr Joseph wanted us to focus on the Tent Revival and asked to us postpone his anniversary celebration and suggested integrating it with our scheduled parish picnic on Saturday, July 23. We will still do that, God willing. But now, some parishioners have requested for even a simple parish celebration this Sunday. So we are celebrating! It will be a potluck celebration in the church hall.
We already have a base for our lunch spread (from contributions): 2 kinds of pasta, chicken and meatballs.
Suggestion: please bring beverages and desserts. Thank you!
Our Tent Revival in the Holy Spirit took place last Friday, May 20 & Saturday, May 21. WOW! Photos & videos inside. More inside.

Preparing for PENTECOST- Novena to the Holy Spirit! Our Tent Revival ( which continues on with our last one this coming Wednesday ) has been our major preparation for the great feast of Pentecost on June 5.
And today, we join the universal Church to begin the 1st day of the PENTECOST NOVENA. Pls see novena inside.

PENTECOST AT
ST. ANTONINUS
Speaking of Pentecost… This is our feast day here at St Antoninus! Our parish was founded on Pentecost Sunday in 1875 and then re-founded in the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday 1975.
As Fr Joseph puts it: "Pentecost is our feast day mainly because of the work of the Holy Spirit here. That day we will be immersed even more in the fire of the Holy Spirit, to receive even more gifts and blessings for service in His Kingdom!
This is a great time to invite friends and family. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a blessing to someone. "

At the end of our Pentecost Sunday Mass, we will have prayers for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (baptism of the Holy Spirit) for the whole assembly. Most of us who recently attended the Tent Revival experienced this outpouring (baptism of the Holy Spirit) last Saturday night, but there is always more! Pentecost is the time to go even deeper and ask the Holy Spirit for specific gifts that we need on our journey with Jesus and for serving God's people in the kingdom. Come Holy Spirit!

Rest in Peace: Louisa Thomas
Please join us at the Memorial Mass for Louisa Thomas tomorrow Saturday, May 28 at 12Noon. Louisa passed away last May 5. She is is the beloved sister of Rose & Kay de Verteuil. Please see obituary inside. For those who cannot come to the Memorial Mass in person, here is the link.

√ Heads up!
Divine Adoration Prayer Conference is coming up ! July 15-17 (Friday to Sunday. Come for a glorious time with Jesus! Fr. Trevor Nathasingh & Fr Peter Okafor among the anointed speakers. See flyer inside.

√ Our new RCIA Class will be starting soon. RCIA stands for: “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.”
This program is for:
- Those who are not baptized and want to inquire about becoming Catholic.
- Those who are non-Catholic Christians and want to consider becoming Catholic.
- and for adult Catholics who have not received Confirmation or Holy Communion.
Please see Lys Victor after Mass or call the office at 973-623-0258 for any questions.

Join us!
ROSARY FOR LIFE this Sunday at 9:15am

This Sunday at 9:15am, we will pray a "Rosary for Life" on the front lawn of the rectory, before our Eucharistic Lord - exposed and vulnerable before us in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

This Rosary Rally is a prayer to combat all the senseless killings that have been happening everywhere. This carnage can stop but only through conversion, and that can only happen through prayer.

There is no small connection between the insane killing of innocent little children in a classroom, the racially motivated killing of adults in the workplace, the ongoing carnage of war in Ukraine, the strife and killings in Nigeria and elsewhere-- and the massacre of babies in the womb through abortion. Sadly, given the number of abortions in America and throughout the world every single day, the womb continues to be the most dangerous place to be in this country and the world.

We will pray for those family members who are mourning this day, including those mothers and fathers who bear the burden of guilt over having had an abortion, that the grace of repentance might lead to the consolation of the Holy Spirit and reconciliation with God and their babies in heaven. We will also pray for a conversion of our culture from a culture that glories in such killing, and for mothers experiencing a crisis pregnancy right now, that they may have the courage and support to choose life.

As we celebrate the great Feast of the Ascension of the Lord this Sunday, we recall that Jesus gave the great commission at the time of his ascension into heaven. We too have been commissioned by Jesus to proclaim the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Part of this commissioning is to be light to dispel the darkness in the world and salt to preserve society from corruption. Prayer together strengthens us to have courage for this mission.

In Jesus thru Mary & St Joseph,
Fr Joseph
TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE PENTECOST NOVENA!
Click here for Day 1 of the Pentecost Novena.
Our Tent Revival 2022 (May 20-21) was a glorious "happening" at St Antoninus, orchestrated and anointed by the Holy Spirit!

Like a powerful hurricane wind and yet tender as the sweetest embrace, it blew in and out of our church, leaving everyone filled with awe and joy.

Due to the rain on Friday night and the excessive heat on Saturday, the Tent Revival took place without the tents. It was held in the lower church- but tent or no tent, we were covered and sheltered by God's heavenly canopy. About 120-130 people came to participate in the Tent Revival.

During the weekend Life in the Spirit Seminars , we learned about and experienced "God's Love", "Salvation", "New Life", then followed by "Receiving God's Gift" and "Preparing for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit."

And last Wednesday night, we gathered at the rectory chapel during our prayer meeting for Seminar #6, "Growth."

We have one more session, "Transformation in Christ" this coming Wednesday, June 1, at 7:45pm (Come at 7pm for our Rosary)

If you have not yet read Fr Joseph's May 24 letter regarding our recent Tent Revival, here it is.

Below are some photos of our Tent Revival 2022. Unfortunately, we were so focused on the moment that we forgot to take photos, except for a few! These are mainly screen shots extracted from the live-streamed videos, so they are not very clear and and the photo angles (mainly from the back) are limited. But they do capture some of the splendor of the moment, praise God!
Below are the live-streamed videos of the weekend Tent Revival. Some of these videos may start in the middle of the recording. In this case, please move the bar all the way to the left side to start from beginning.
