24th Annual Weingart Golf Classic

The Weingart Golf Classic sponsored by City National Bank was held on August 10, 2020 at Sherwood Country Club in beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA, and was our best tournament to-date!

Not only did everyone enjoy a much-deserved day of fun in the sun, but with your help, the Weingart Center grossed $318,000+, which will be used to support various Weingart programs and services.

We'd like to thank all of our golfers, vendors, sponsors, and especially City National Bank for being our Title Sponsor this year. Without all of you, this simply would not have been possible. Thank you!

Project Roomkey is a coordinated effort to secure hotel and motel rooms in L.A. County as temporary shelters for people experiencing homelessness who are at high-risk for hospitalization if they contract Coronavirus (COVID-19). High-risk individuals include seniors 65+ and/or those suffering from chronic illness.

The Weingart Center is proud to announce that we have opened our Project Roomkey program at The Mayfair Hotel, and started to deliver services on July 14, 2020. The program houses 327 of our most vulnerable neighbors in the community.

Our site provides participants with emergency temporary housing, client supportive services, on-site supervision, and three meals a day. Contracted licensed security, healthcare services, and City of Los Angeles and/or County Disaster Service Workers (DSW) provide support while ensuring all participants and staff are in an environment that strives to meet the needs of the “Safer at Home” executive order issued by the City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, and the State of California.
REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT
As city officials and service agencies come together to find creative solutions to address our homeless crisis, the Weingart Center is paving the way with innovative permanent supportive and affordable housing solutions.

Nearly 50 pets were bathed, and many were groomed with a Summer cut. 25 participants were registered to receive free Spay/Neuter vouchers. While on-site, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services administered 25 COVID tests.
