New Pearl Teacher
Pearl Prep is excited to announce a new addition to our professional teaching staff, Mr. Pete Clark. 2020-21 will be Mr. Clark’s 19th year of teaching, a career that has seen him teach every grade Kinder through 8th. He is a graduate of Rio Hondo Prep and has coached at Kare for over 25 years. Mr. Clark has spent the last 7 years teaching elementary school children in China and has often served as a substitute teacher at Pearl while he was in California. We are very happy to have him back this year as our new Kindergarten teacher.   We also congratulate him on his recent wedding.
Distance Learning
School will start with Distance Learning on September 8th. We remind all of you to pick-up your books and materials on Sept. 3rd from 4:30-6:00 p.m. To prepare, we encourage everyone to set up a designated home desk area for their student. We know that is not always possible, so if not think of a basket or backpack that can make for a portable area to keep students organized. It should include the items on the School Supply List so that everything is handy for class each day.
Students will be on Zoom each morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (K-2nd) or 11:30 a.m. (3rd-5th). They will be assigned daily independent afternoon work and teachers will log in on Zoom from 1:30-2:30 pm each afternoon to be available to help. Links to Zoom along with other links will be available on Gradelink. Look for an email from Gradelink in the next couple of days with login information. If students want an extra challenge, we will have additional resources on Gradelink as well. Weekly drop-off/pick-up will be Fridays from 2:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. or 5:00-6:00 p.m. All distance learners need to plan to come at one of these times for drop-off and pick-up each week or send a representative.
Wash Your Hands!
