The Great Shofar is sounded, a still, small voice is heard...

This line from the High Holy Days liturgy, more than any other, captures the power of these approaching Days of Awe. Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur call to us through the piercing majesty of the sound of the Shofar, inviting us to renew our connection with ourselves, with our people, and with G-d.

This year more than ever we turn to our tradition for words of comfort and hope. The pandemic has challenged us. For that reason it is important to support each other and expand and deepen our connections during these High Holy Days. We yearn to be with our community.

We welcome you to celebrate the High Holy Days and hope each of you find a congregation in the Tucson Jewish community that will help you greet the New Year 5781, in a meaningful and uplifting way. The Great Shofar will be sounded ... join with us in hearing its call!

Shanah tovah!

Tucson's congregations participating in the Synagogue-Federation Dialogue and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona wish you a joyous and healthy New Year.
