Precautionary Measures at the Clinic
At Asheville Integrative Acupuncture we prioritize providing a safe and welcoming experience for all of our clients. Please know that we are doing all of the recommended cleaning and safety protocols in our clinic to ensure it is safe for you to get the self care you need. Masks are being worn, cleaning occurs between each person, and pre-screening is required as well.
Now more than ever we need to take care of ourselves and our health... we are here to provide you safe and effective care.

Please do not let Covid-19 prevent you from taking care of yourself, as acupuncture is proven to improve your health!
How Acupuncture Helps Your Immune System
Departing from summer means entering into Flu season and COVID is still around. We all know that the vaccine helps to decrease the severity of the disease, but does not prevent it fully.

The best thing we can do for our bodies and immune systems is to eat healthy food, take supplements like Zinc, Vit. C, Vit D, exercise and get regular acupuncture.

These are natural, precautionary and preventative measures to keep our bodies and minds on guard for the upcoming months.
Studies produced by the National Institutes of Health have stated that regular acupuncture has been shown to increase the amount of T cells in the body. T cells kill harmful viruses and bacteria in the body. Acupuncture stimulates the brain to activate its natural immune response in the body, thus keeping the immune system stronger and more vigilant. This cellular response from acupuncture lasts for several days after a patient receives an acupuncture treatment.
Therefore, receiving weekly acupuncture treatments will prevent your body from becoming sick.

Acupuncture is proven to be a valuable preventive self-care modality that should be an essential part of your health care routine. It is proven that acupuncture can readily decrease inflammation in the body. An article published by Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine claims that “inflammation is the coherent pathophysiologic progress in many kinds of diseases” and that “the anti-inflammation effect of acupuncture may be a very important underlying mechanism of acupuncture in treating diseases.”

Upcoming Prenatal Yoga Classes
Guess what, my loves, I am going to be teaching a prenatal yoga class at Asheville Community Yoga every Wednesday at 10:30 am starting Oct 6, 2021.
If you have never participated in prenatal yoga you should know that it has incredible benefits for both mama and baby. Prenatal yoga encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing.
Benefits of this yoga practice include: reduction of stress and anxiety, improved sleep, decreased pain in the lower back, decreased nausea and headaches, and an increase in strength, endurance, and flexibility of the muscles needed for childbirth. Prenatal yoga classes additionally connect you with other pregnant women and provide you the necessary tools such as breathwork and stress reducing skills to benefit you in labor.
Serendipity Somatics
I would additionally like to share with you the offerings my friend Sarah at Serendipity Somatics currently has.

At Serendipity Somatics, Sarah offers Aquanatal classes and Mama & Me Singing and Movement Classes - all within a heated saltwater pool.

Aquanatal classes are Thursdays at 10:00 am with the Mama & Me classes at 11:30 am.
