Dear Friends of A Novel Experience,

September just crept on us--with school starting and...well, everything we are a little late with our newsletter. Have you noticed that the days are growing shorter? Darker in the morning and not as much sunlight on the front porch to read in the early evening. We hope everyone is doing OK and coping with the demands of business-not-as-usual. When you need a break we're here! And, we're returning to our regular 10-7 opening time--thanks for sticking with us through the past several months. We appreciate your support, and your care with the social distancing thing as well as wearing masks--we have a whole stack of them in the front if you forget to bring yours.

We're hearing from some parents that the kids will be learning at home (and that they need stuff to do). We're beginning to stock some really cool science kits that might fit the bill--explore space, minerals and rocks, crystals and dinosaurs. We still have a box of used children's books on the sidewalk out back--please grab some for your young readers. And, there's the series on Georgia--Animals and "Lucky to Live in Georgia" that includes fun facts about the state, write-in spaces to record memories and how to make a time capsule.

We're half-and-half Zooming for book groups (check out below) and doing off-site meetings on our porches for the other half...Shaunasee will do her Young Adult group at the store with appropriate social distancing--she's also planning some cool groups--stay tuned. If you are interested, please give us a call at 770-567-1103 and we'll get back with you.

This month, we are featuring the art of one of our favorite photographers, Dale Niles. This time around she is featuring incredible images of animals from owls to apes. The stories just leap out of the frames. We'd love to have an opening reception for folks to meet Dale but we're going to hold off for the time being. Her paintings will hang for the month--please come and enjoy.

And, please don't forget you can order books on-line at Bookshop which will take you to our very own page. It's the coolest site that was designed to support independent bookstores--an alternative to the biggies. :)

We miss you all, but most importantly, we hope that you and your family are safe and well.

All of us at A Novel Experience
